Comprehensive Stair Guide:
--------------------------
Written by Diplopanda
There a couple ways that one might want to use when building custom
stairs (which you’ll have to do for certain circumstances if that’s
what you wish).
[Disclaimer!] The first way is easier than the second way, but mind
you both ways can be fiddly and take patience.
* The usage of platforms. Using the buildings that are lowered to the
desired (probably minimum height and raised up if that’s what you want).
Using multiple of these (two stacked directly on top of each other to
get rid of the merlon or railing effect) you can adjust each on directly
to try and shape your desired steps.
The second way is definitely more soul tearing and harder. This takes
much more patience and fiddling to get the desired look. Also may take
more from your computer!
* This method was originally introduced by Pew, and is done by using
the wall tool. By cutting the desired stair length into 2-3 brick wide
blocks you can get a flat top surface and adjusting each height and
positioning to hand craft your own steps.
* For this method I’d suggest sticking with flat rectangular stairs
while still trying to get the gist of it before trying a curved
staircase, and also try recolouring the wall before cutting them into
smaller chunks to get that flat look. (This saves you time in the long
run).
Quick Guide to Small Roof Extensions:
-------------------------------------
Written by Anneva.
I wanted to share a little technique I figured out while trying to see
how to get a bit of a sticking out roof piece, without the large block
of floor underneath it. This can only be used on small sections, but I
thought it looked great for a small porch or doorway roof.
Place a small building piece sticking out where you want the floating
porch roof. Draw path under the 3 exposed sides of the block. Nudge the
path closer and closer to wall to get the door flat against the original
wall. Play with the height of the arch to your desire.
If you want to use a placeable door, nudge the path even closer to the
main building until the door “sinks” behind the wall, then place a door.
If you want to adjust the door later, you just need to move the porch
piece away to access it.
If the “joins” where the two blocks intersect appear on the wall, you can
just adjust the positioning minutely and they disappear again. I also
thought it looked cute with two small wooden fence posts to look like
support.
The narrower the piece, the further away from the wall you can pull it
without support. And if you make it wider a column will spawn in the
middle, so you can combat this by bringing it closer to the wall. I
haven’t experimented with height yet. I’d love to see your results and
improvements to the technique!
With the door created by the path through the wall.
* With a placeable door made from a window dragged to the bottom. Sometimes
you just gotta keep fiddling with the dimensions a bit to make the front
column disappear!
* This what I mean about the “edges” that can show up where the blocks
intersect, just nudge it a bit and they disappear again.
* Adding wooden support columns.
* This is the widest I’ve managed to get it without a support column
popping up, the wider it is, the shallower it needs to be (the front
closer to the building).^
Quick Guide to Camping:
-----------------------
Written by Visco.
-=Tent - Tip & Tricks=-
* The build is on raised ground.
* I used the watertool to lower the platform, so only the roof is above
ground. The small ground gap is covered with bushes.
* There are multiple roofs inside the tent. Some to add the tent poles,
some to add the front ‘opening’.
-=Campfire & Dining Area - Tips & Tricks=-
* The dining area is purely build with fences over paths.
* There are some stone walls involved with making the props.
This is because you can make walls more thin than fences.
* For tips and tricks about the campfire (with fire at night).
* The campfire in this case is totally build ‘undergroud’, using the water
tool on the raised ground.
-=Wooden Logs and Axe - Tips & Tricks=-
* The logs are made of A LOT of fences on a path.
* Only the axe blade is made of a small piece of wall.
-=Clothing Line - Tips & Tricks=-
* I placed two of the smallest towers left and right.
* Then I raised them both, so that they were standing on pillars.
* I added a window on each tower, making sure both had clothing hanging
outside.
* I placed the towers as far as possible, but close enough to let it form
a clothing line.
* Lastly I covered the towers up with placing multiple trees next to each
other.
How to Make Perfect Path Circles:
---------------------------------
Written by Phlegm
At any scale! These can be used for guides for placing circular walls, or
just for decoration. Also works for water and flowers! You can do this in
a few simple steps, but first you’ll want keys bound to Move Up and Rotate.
* Find a mid-point for your circle. In this case, for a very large circle,
I drew very long lines from corner-to-corner by lining up my camera with
the corner, placing a path, and holding a direction key to drag the path
out..takes a few attempts.
* Make sure your camera is pointing straight down at the ground.
* Centre the midpoint in your screen. This is easiest to do by eye if you
zoom in to it.
* Press your Move Up key to raise the camera. As opposed to Zoom Out, this
will raise your camera directly vertically, rather than away from wherever
your cursor is. You can zoom out, but it can be tough to keep centred.
Move Up is foolproof.
* Pick a point on the end of your circle, start placing your path, and rotate!
Guide to Building a Treehouse & Wooden Stairs:
----------------------------------------------
Written by v4slav
-=Treehouse=-
First, build a small house and raise it up to around the level of the tree’s
foliage. The height should be such that you can still add doors and windows to
the structure. Once your house is raised, remove the wooden beams underneath.
You can do this by placing another block below the house and then destroying it.
If any beams remain, press Z and then X to remove them. Now your house will appear
to float in the air.
Next, choose a suitable tree and place it where you want it to support the house.
You can also change the season to use leafless trees so that the foliage doesn’t
get in the way, making it easier to position the tree’s trunk directly under the
house.
-=Wooden Stairs=-
To build wooden stairs in the game Tiny Glade, we’ll need standard wooden fences.
I’ll build a small house to make it clearer for you.
By default, you can’t set the height of your wooden fences to the maximum, but to
get around this limitation, you first need to draw a path where you want to place
the stairs. Then, place a wooden fence on the path and raise it using the small
arrows, not the larger ones.
Adjust the height to what you need, doing this for each step. You can also use
blocks to cover parts of the wooden posts that don’t look very appealing.
