Embrace Your Inner Wrecking Ball:
---------------------------------
This is no time for nostalgia. That initial well you built? Not your child.
It’s a speed bump. Structures in this game are fungible machines, not
heirlooms. If something is ruining the perfect feng shui of your killing
"war block", obliterate it. Wells in particular are essentially free and
are to be treated like medieval post-it notes: useful for an instant,
then yeeted into the sun.
Good kings strategize; great kings bring the bulldozer.
Morale: Your Damage Steroid:
----------------------------
On the surface, Morale is a cute, feel-good stat. It isn’t. It is a raw
damage multiplier. One Morale point is a +1% damage boost -> for every
single unit… Turn on an Arena and a literal fountain of wine, and you can
easily have +40% damage. Your pitchfork-toting farmers will start tearing
into armoured knights like hot knife through butter.
Getting a Lot of Crystals Guide:
--------------------------------
Written by SpinzACE
Artifacts are crucial! Some of the best ones are:
== Grape Planters ==
Receive 1 wine for each Wheat Field or Small Wheat Field in your castle
every 10 seconds.
Wine increases morale, which increases attack by a very noticeable amount.
This works even when the fields aren’t under the king’s vision, which is
why the example picture shows rows of small wheat fields.
==Metal Mask ==
Gain 2 metal when you kill an enemy.
Great for getting those catapult/ballista buildings and constructing them.
== Vine Mask ==
Gain 3 grapes when you kill an enemy.
Great if your plan is to use stables/horsemen rather than camps/militia. In
my humble opinion, horsemen are better, but without this artifact, you’ll need
a grapevine field.
== Crystal Mask ==
Gain 3 crystals when you kill an enemy.
You will still need a crystal mine to get enough crystals for the magic colleges,
but this absolutely helps.
== Voodoo Beads ==
Upon choosing a reward, your first reroll is free.
A free reroll on artifacts and buildings is incredible for helping you gather
the exact buildings you need.
== Indescribable Figurine ==
When one of your troops dies, a dreadful creature of immense power rises from
their remains to fight for you. Has a cooldown of 180 seconds.
== Scarecrow Hat ==
When one of your troops dies, an explosive Scarecrow will be created in its
place. Has a cooldown of 40 seconds.
== Indestructible Shield ==
Gain a 15% chance for your units to completely block damage.
The above three are all great for helping your "meatshields" last longer and
keep distracting enemies.
== Family Crossbow ==
Receive 2 temporary archers at the start of every wave.
Two extra troops that sit at the second line to help distract the enemy. It’s
less their attacks and more their use as fallback "meatshields" which is useful.
Some of the other artifacts, such as the 1,000 water jug, are great, but these
are some of the key ones to seek.
The building upgrades are also important, particularly stun and capacity for
the catapults, along with faster spells.
How to Easily Get into the TOP 1%:
----------------------------------
Written by Pochers Erzfeind
-=Best Setup=-
A setup of 5-6 Catapult Buildings and 3 Camps, along with 4 Magic Academies and
1 Arena, is ideal. Since catapults are never attacked, you can delete them once
they are produced. Three camps are sufficient, providing 15 units.
I typically use the spells shown in the screenshot: one Mine/Armageddon and Root
spell per wave, possibly followed by an Immortal or Freeze spell if the military
units are close to death. There may be better options, but I felt very comfortable
with these in this run. I’ll have to try others next time to see how the buff
spells work in the late game. This takes at least 2-3 hours, perfect for hangovers.
-=Early Game=-
How to play before the fight with the dragon:
* At the beginning, I reload the game until the graveyard spawns on a corner. That
way, you have the most efficiency and no negative buffs on fields over the
duration of the game.
* Always push the market immediately and try to increase my gold from 40 to 60.
After that, I set the market aside so that I can build 1-2 Small Peasant Huts
before the first wave, ensuring that the starting troops DON’T DIE.
* Then, I try to get the research table directly and place it on a buff field. I
aim to acquire the Camp, the Catapults, the Forge, and the Magic University as
quickly as possible so that I can upgrade them. If other cards are suggested, I
recycle them to use the money at the trader.
* Depending on the suggested T1 starting cards, I build the magic school on a
different buff field so that I can play stronger waves. I always choose the
clay mine here to quickly expand my vision.
-=Warlord=-
This is relatively easy to beat with two freezing spells and about 10 camp units.
Most of the time, you already have the capacity upgrade at this point, so two
camps are enough to beat him.
-=Dragon=-
Here, the run is already so far advanced that you usually have 70-80% of all the
necessary builds on the board. I felt safest when I already had all the necessary
camps and catapults on the board, along with the 3x healing/immortal spells. Since
the catapults are one-shotted by the dragon’s breath, you can cancel out the
destruction with the spells with some timing.
With the stun upgrade of the catapults, relatively few camp units are killed, as
the dragon is permanently stunned. Here, 8-10 camp units and the rest of the
catapults were usually enough for me to win. Most of the time, you already have
1-2 Magic Universities here, so you can either buy the spells in advance from the
trader or generate them yourself.
-=Late Game=-
After the final boss, all you have to do is rotate through to get to the final
setup of the board. In most cases, you have already collected enough wood and
wheat (about 800-1k).
7-9 military units and the rest of the catapults are usually enough. This allows
you to still get good spells and pre-produce units at the same time.
