Starfield
Cheat Codes:
------------
Submitted by: David K.
Players may activate cheat codes in Starfield by using console
commands, which are a crucial utility.
You must first enter the command console in order to enter cheats and
console commands. Press the Tidle (~) Key while playing the game or
navigating the menus to do this. You may now type codes into the
command console once it appears.
Note: Please be aware that running some commands will make achievements
unreachable.
Code Effect
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
tgm - God Mode! Enables complete invincibility and unlimited ammo.
tim - Enables you to take damage, but you’ll never reach 0 health.
psb - Unlocks all available powers.
tdetect - NPCs will no longer detect you.
tcai - Combat AI will no longer target you.
tcl - Character collision is disabled, allowing you to fly through
walls, floors, and other objects.
killall - All NPCs in the area will be killed.
kah - All hostile NPCs in the area will be killed.
How to Change FOV:
------------------
Written by Kotov
* Open Windows Explorer and navigate to Documents -> My Games -> Starfield.
* Right-click an empty space inside the folder and select New
-> Text Document.
* Name the new document "StarfieldCustom.ini".
Make sure it doesn’t have ".txt" at the end.
* Open the new document in Notepad.
* Copy and paste the following
[Camera]
fFPWorldFOV=100.0000
fTPWorldFOV=100.0000
fDefaultFOV=100
[FlightCamera]
fFlightCameraFOV=100
* Replace the 100s with your desired FOV values for 1st, 3rd person and spaceship
views respectively. By default, Starfield’s FOV is set to 85 for first person,
and 70 for third person.
* Save and exit the file.
Note: If your new “StarfieldCustom.ini” file fails to become an ini click at the
top-left of the window on view>show>file name extensions. Ensure the .txt extension
is deleted and replaced by .ini
All Ammo & Grenades Console Batch Command:
------------------------------------------
Written by Hornet
Warning!!! Using console commands will disable achievements (unless you install
a mod to re-enable them) and may ruin your save file. Always make a backup.
Here’s an easy way to get 1000 of all ammo and grenade types using a single
console command. You may want to lower the amounts due to carry weight.
Create a file in Notepad (or other .txt app) & name it "ammo.txt"
(or whatever you want to call it).
Copy & paste this list into the document
(it will work with the //notes I have tested it):

(or wherever you’d like it to be).
* Find your file in folder, Copy it, then Paste it into the Starfield
directory folder (Content folder).
* Open the console in Starfield and enter: bat ammo
(or bat “whatever you named your file”).
Tips for Outpost Storage:
-------------------------
Written by Gareth
It’s all under the “Storage” tab in your outpost building menu. The first
item is the “Transfer Container”, this is where you dump all your items in
to get sorted.
Then there’s three buildings by default:
* Storage – Solid
* Storage – Liquid
* Storage – Gas
Each of them will hold up to something like 75kg of a specific type of material.
When you build the Transfer Container you’ll get a prompt telling you that you
can hook your transfer container up to storage and storage up to storage to
create a chain.
Basically, you’ll want more than one of each type. You link the Transfer
Container to Solid 1, Solid 1 to Solid 2 and Solid 2 to Solid 3 and that means
when you dump ores into the Transfer Container it’ll fill up Solid 3, then
Solid 2 then Solid 1. You can hook one Transfer Container up to multiple storage,
so you just use the one Transfer Container for all your types of storage.
As you do more research you unlock more types of storage. For example, Storage –
Solid can’t hold manufactured stuff like the Zero Wire or Gimballs. One of the
first pieces of research I did unlocked the ability to build a Warehouse – Small
which holds those items. I assume that more will be unlocked as I reserach more.
It’s much simpler once you get around to it, but basically you build 3-4 of each
type of storage somewhere, link a single Transfer Container to them and make a
chain out of them and then you can transfer straight from the ship to the
container by interacting with the container.
Modify Maximum Crew Member Limit on a Ship:
-------------------------------------------
Written by KingKuppa
If you want more crew members on your ship than the game limits you simply enter
in this console command.
* Load up your game you wish to modify.
* Now open the console window (hit the [~] Tilde key to do so).
* Now simply enter the following command with whatever limit you wish I will use
10 for this example:
Player.setav SpaceShipCrewCommandSlots 10
How to restore your immersion levels:
-------------------------------------
Written by V1905
-=Introduction=-
When you do any modification to your ship’s layout all decorative or “misc” objects
inside it go into the ship’s cargo, this makes the ship look empty and UNIMMERSIVE,
and placing objects yourself is a pain in the ass like in any other Bethesda game,
But fear not for there’s a solution!:
* After doing any modifications go inside your ship (it’s gonna be empty).
* Go to your cargo hold and take any item from it
(not sure if this is necessary but can’t hurt doing it anyways).
* Save the game and exit to desktop.
* Open the game again and load your save.
* Exit your ship.
* Re-enter your ship.
* It should now have new misc items placed for decoration.
* Profit (no, really, it generates new misc objects every time so it could be used
for an infinite money glitch).
How to Survive Ship Battles:
----------------------------
Join the Vanguard!
Equip 6 Vanguard Particle Weapons (Its called the Vanguard Object Accelerator
something, and it’s very pricey). It costs only 2 energy each, shoots in a 3 round
burst, but with all 6 weapons aimed at a enemy their shields completely die in 1
second, and their hull in 2 seconds.
At higher Pilot skills of B class and C class, you get access to Vanguard cannons
and there are often particle beam turrets that has various names, if it does both
equal hull and shield damage, it’s a particle beam weapon.
The Neutron/Proton/etc turrets you can place on your ship facing backwards, and while
you fly around gunning down enemy ships, the turrets will fend off any enemies on your
backsides, as the turrets can aim at a 45 degree cone, but also almost 90 degrees above
the ship.
If you truly want to deck out your ship with only turrets, you can fit 4 turrets in
each of the 3 weapon slots for a total of 12. But the energy cost would be 36 for
the turrets alone. Granted, you can fly around and the turret will shoot everything
around you.
Maxing out Engine is best, because with higher top speeds you can outrun enemy ships
if you need to and let your 3000~3850 range turrets/weapons hit them from afar.
If you max out Payload skill, which increases all cargo by 50%, you can get crew
members with payload skills to ride your ship which also stacks their skill bonuses
with yours, you can make a tiny ship that carries 2x the usual load.
Maybe it’ll be a matter of time until custom companions are modded in and allows
you to bring late game high end companions on the ship… You can max it out and allow
up to 8 crew members to ride on your ship, meaning lots and lots of skills.
How to Become Invisible (Easy Stealth Mode):
--------------------------------------------
-=Solution #1=-
Type "tdetect" (without the quotes) in the console to toggle NPCs ability to
detect you completely off.
-=Solution #2=-
Or you can tweak the stealth parameters to make it much easier, but not god-mode
stealth, using these commands.
Exterior modifier for sneaking, lower value = lower exterior NPC detection (vanilla = 1.25)
* setgs fSneakExteriorDistanceMult 1.25
NPC Detection View Cone, lower value = lower view cone (vanilla = 190)
* setgs fDetectionViewCone 190
Multiplier for sound related stealth, lower value = lower sound produced (vanilla = 1)
* setgs fSneakSoundsMult 1.0
Multiplier for sound related stealth when the player is out of sight, lower
value = lower sound produced (vanilla = 0.4)
* setgs fSneakSoundLosMult 0.4
Multiplier for how much equipment weight affects the sound made, lower value =
lower sound produced based on equipment weight (vanilla 1)
* setgs fSneakEquippedWeightMult 1.0
Multiplier for how much light affects stealth, lower value = easier to sneak
if the area is lit (vanilla = 1)
* setgs fSneakLightMult 1
Sleeping NPC detection, lower value = less detection for sleeping NPCs
(vanilla = 0)
* setgs fSneakSleepBonus 0
Multiplier for running while sneaking, lower value = lower impact of running
(vanilla = 2)
* setgs fSneakRunningmult 2.0
NPC Followers Guide (Cheat):
----------------------------
Written by Lucius Confucius
This is a guide to have NPC followers through console commands. Use at your
own risk. I recommend finishing the game at least once, then messing around
with console commands.
Note: Console Commands disable achievements.
-=NPC Followers Through Console Commands=-
Open your console via the console key, it differs on various keyboards, so
you may need to look up how to open it on your specific keyboard.
Use this command to spawn an NPC of your choice:
player.placeatme referenceID NumberOfNPCtoSpawn
For example, we will use the UC Grunt for this, the command would look
like this:
* player.placeatme 00066ad6 1
To spawn one grunt.
Look up a reference ID for the NPC you want to spawn.
Type once into the console, without selecting the NPC:
* ssq 0000D773
Click the NPC and type:
* forcerefintoalias ActiveFollowers
Next step may not be necessary and is beta only?
Click the NPC and type:
* setplayerteammate 1
Notice, this is early beta testing. Do this on your own risk.
Guide to Equip Your Companion Using Console Commands:
-----------------------------------------------------
Written by Kporal
-=Description=-
I will show you with console commands, how to equip your companion
(or any npc) with anything you want.
When reading this guide, i assume your already know a bit about
console command, it is not made to explain each command in detail
or how “target” / “reference” / “object id” … work.
-=Console Command=-
unequipall
- this command will be use first to be sure the selected npc will not
get any “corrupted” information.
removeallitems player
- here the command will obviously remove all inventory items from
the target, and give it to the player.
equipitem #id
- is similar to additem, but do not add more item if one is already
present and equip it directly, additem will not.
cf “ObjectReference.AttachModToInventoryItem” #target #id
- will allow you to attach a mod to “the first / last” item found
or spawned in the inventory.
In most case for your personal usage you may use something like (va’ruun
inflictor example):
player.placeatme 0026D8A0
picklastref
getselectedref
amod 0028F444
amod 000FEA49
amod 000F4557
amod 0015DD18
This “bat” will create the weapon, select it in the console and apply
quality and rarity mod to it.
But it won’t work when adding stuff directly in an inventory because
additem or equipitem do not return the new reference object id.
When you want to edit the item on an inventory you must use:
player.additem 0026D8A0
player.cf "ObjectReference.AttachModToInventoryItem" 0026D8A0 0028F444
player.cf "ObjectReference.AttachModToInventoryItem" 0026D8A0 000FEA49
player.cf "ObjectReference.AttachModToInventoryItem" 0026D8A0 000F4557
player.cf "ObjectReference.AttachModToInventoryItem" 0026D8A0 0015DD18
Of course you can avoid “player.” if you first select yourself in the
console (prid player or 00000014), or if you have selected the npc you
want to edit.
Again i will not explain in detail each command, a lot of website already
explain everything better than i will.
Also be careful when adding a mod to your armor or weapon, if you use the
help command for long barrel, you will see a lot of ID, because each weapon
as it’s own barrel mod, only the rarity will work for any weapon:
Calibrated 0028F442
Refined 0028F443
Advanced 0028F444
And for armor:
Calibrated 0011E2BC
Refined 0011E2BA
Advanced 0011E2B9
Superior 0003AF7D
Where
* Go to your starfield folder, and create a .txt file at the same place of
your Starfield.exe (or in custom folder if your wish).
* Place the code inside the file, and in game use bat without the file
extension.
* If you use a folder: bat “Folder/Filename”.

How to Rank Up the Shipcommand-Skill:
-------------------------------------
Written by Khajiirah
How to get the 0/5 destroyed ship with at least 2 crewmemers. I was
struggeling with it too, thought it was buggy. But here is how it works…
So, long story short? If you rank up, and if you are able to choose the
ship command skill, there you might have one question:
How the heck i rank it up? It does not work, doesen’t matter what i do!
If you wan’t to rank it up, make sure to use a ship you did NOT get
by capturing it:
* Use the Frontier as example.
(Maybe others work too but not a captured one atm)
* Have At Least (or more than) two Crewmembers on your ship, doesen’t
mater if it is Sarah or Sam, Barrett or Marika, or a common NPC
from a Pub.
* Then go and destroy 5 Enemy ships and you will see the numbers grow,
0/5->1/5->2/5 etc it is just magic, (it just works!) Errrr….
(It might happen then you get 1 count for one battle and not for
every ship, consider this, maybe the description is wrong).
* Have Fun!
* Leave a comment if it helped, (also if not)
* Press Spacebar to jump…
* Press Spacebar and the Arrowkeys for more effect..
* Stop reading this, get ya skill ranked up!
How To Take Multiple Ships:
---------------------------
Written by OGPG
Easy way to take multiple ships without having to go to the Shipyard
each time to sell them, *This only works in Space, not for Ships that
have landed on a Planet.
1.Fly to an area that has enemy ships.
2.Disable the ship of your choice by knocking out its engines.
If there are other ships, destroy them first before disabling the
ship you want.
3.Dock and board the enemy Ship and eliminate all of the crew.
4.Loot everything (dont forget the Cargo and Captains Locker).
5.Sit in the Pilot seat.
*This is the Important Part!!*
6.Undock from your ship.
(Your ship will not fly away)
7.Immediately flip around. Target your ship and re-dock with it.
8.Exit the pilot seat.
9.Open your menu and go to Ship. The ship you are in now should be the
first one listed.
Make it your “Home Ship” and Register it.
10.Go back and board your ship.
11.Go and sit in the pilot seat.
12.Open your Menu and go to Ship.
Make your ship “Home Ship”.
Exit out of the Menu.
Thats it!
The other ship is now yours. It will undock itself and will fly away on
it’s own back to a Shipyard for you to sell or modify later.
Rinse/Repeat.
Note:You can only have 11 Ships total so sell the others before you try
to take more.
Guide to Make the Game Harder:
------------------------------
* Set the game on very hard
Game is still not as difficult as desired but a little more entertaining. Be
careful of the space battles, which can sometimes be very difficult if your
ship is not sufficiently equipped.
* Mod: no hit markers
In a shootout you don’t know whether you’ve actually hit the target. Makes
shooting from further away more interesting.
* Mod: no enemy lifebars
You don’t see how much life the enemy has, which makes shooting interesting.
You also can’t see what level the opponent has. Do I sneak past or attack?
* Dont upgrade workbench skill for armore and weapons
So when you find a better weapon or armore its a better loot experience.
Otherwise you can upgrade every weapon and armor to the maximum and looting
becomes unnecessary.
* Dont use fast travel
In this game you can jump from one planet to another without ever using the
ship once you have discovered 2 points on the map. This eliminates some
spaceship battles. big disadvantage. Since some of the planets look very
generic and there is nothing interesting to discover, this can be very tedious.
But hey, maybe you can take a screenshot or two of the landscape.
* To make the game even more hardcore, leave the inventory management as it
is in the vanilla game
Or install the mod “StarUI Inventory” to make your life easier with a much
better overview.
* Dont use super powers (optional)
I played through Starfield once normally and once with these settings and had
a lot more fun with it.
Tips in General:
----------------
* Autosave feature is pretty stable now, but still make a save every 30-40
minutes just to be safe.
* Try not to use quicksave function, it tends to miss some data, if you try
to load from startup.
* The amount of save files in the folder has no effect on the game whatsoever,
same as switching between characters even mid game. Tested it myself.
* Don’t keep thousands of different items in the inventory, it WILL slow the
loading process, try to keep inventory as clean as possible. Ship inventory
can be cluttered more, but still have the same rules – the more stuff there
– the longer it will take to load the lists. Amount of certain item is not
important, but the amount of different items.
* Try to loot ALL weapons – the script that removes the bodies when you leave
the cell and sets it to respawn, doesn’t affect dropped weapons – they will
lie there and clutter the save file. There is a mod that makes NPCs never
drop their weapons – it’s up to you to use it.
* Saving mid combat seems pretty stable, also saving in any cell, exterior,
interior or space. But tend to make save files in interior cells – they are
easier to load from startup and makes it generally more safe for you to load
a save.
* You can modify a ship in your collection without flying it.
* Dropped enemy weapons hold their ammo, pick them up if youre short.
* The beowulf is the best non auto rifle in the game.
* Laser weapons are great in no gravity and vs robots.
* Paint your ship regularly to keep the clutter cleaned up. Just remember to
sell it from your cargo hold.
* Class C weapons suck. Don’t waste your money. Class A weapons have higher
burst damage and sustained dps.
* Particle Beams hit shield and hull. Two for the price of one. Save your
reactor power for more shields.
