Fix Your Unexpectedly Bad FPS:
------------------------------
Written by Gunrun
Are you getting way worse FPS than you should be? Especially 22 FPS?
Have a look in here.
-=Try These Steps=-
There seem to be 3 issues here.
1. You have integrated graphics as well as your GPU?
If this is the case the game may be using your iGPU rather than your descrete one.
If you are on Nvidia right click on your desktop, go to Nvida Control Panel, manage
3d settings, find Sekiro in the list, and make it use your graphics card. If you
have an AMD GPU, god help you, because I have no idea. If this doesn't work move
to step 2.
2. You have multiple monitors or TVs? If not go to step three!
For some reason the game won't go past 22 FPS if you have more than 1 monitor
plugged in. Unplug your second monitor from your PC. You can't just disable the
monitor in windows or turn off the power, physically remove your HDMI / DVI / DP
cable. Once the game is running plug them back in if you like
3. Maybe you have a potato for a computer?
Does your graphics card have m at the end of its name, is it an Nvidia 1030/40/50
or god forbid a 930/40/50? Maybe you are on a laptop or low end machine that
doesn't have a discrete graphics card at all? Consider a better graphics card,
or lowering settings. This isn't really a problem with the game.
How to Defeat Lady Butterfly (Boss Guide):
------------------------------------------
Written by Wendy
This boss is located in Hirata Estate by the fast travel point Hirata Audience Chamber.
The encounter begins as you enter the atrium and she will fire kunais at you almost
immediately. Rush over to one of the wooden pillars closest to you and allow her to
slink closer while using the pillar as cover against the projectile attacks.
Once she is closer, you have a couple of options.
Continue to smack her; only stopping to parry her abilities when they come up.
Use the Whirlwind Combat Art skill to whittle her health down slowly.
Once the Lady is within range of your normal attacks, hit her around three times
to deal stagger damage or use the Whirlwind Combat Art skill to slice a bit of health
from her bar. Remember, don't be too greedy and dodge when you think she's about to
attack! As for parrying...
You'll notice that when she blocks attacks, sparks fly from your sword colliding with
her. At a certain point, those sparks will get brighter and this will be your key to
knowing when she will begin striking you instead. When this happens, parry as pin-point
as you can to keep the stagger going.
Be wary of her sweep ability. When the icon appears over your head that she'll be
doing a sweep, you can actually deal tons of stagger damage by jumping and kicking off
of her head. It's a bit tricky to do, but this is how I ended up beating her in the
first interaction.
The second interaction is much the same. Just make sure that when she dissolves her
minions, you sprint away from the projectile butterflies or hide behind some pillars!
The minions themselves are pretty easy with Whirlwind, but you don't have to kill them.
They'll leave soon enough.
-=Too Long; Didn't Read:=-
* She has two iterations. Killing the first Lady progresses the encounter.
* Whirlwind Combat Art skill seems to work well.
* She has an incredibly harsh sweep ability.
Be wary when she jumps onto her strings above.
* Careful of the butterflies after minions dissolve. Run until they disappear.
Easy General Naomori Kawarada boss fight:
-----------------------------------------
The location of this boss fight is Ashina Outskirts - Outskirts Wall Gate Path.
Immediately after this sculptor's idol, you will encounter a big samurai. He is the
only enemy in the courtyard. To defeat him, sneak above the rooftops on the left,
without being seen by General Naomori. Then, sneak up to him from behind and stab
him in the back to immediately take away one of his lives. Next, simply attack with
the standard sword attacks, and whenever he attacks simply block (or counter by
pressing [Block] just before his attacks land). Blocking is less risky though. After
he finishes an attack, chain attack him again. Repeat this until his guard breaks to
defeat him. Also, remember you have a revive and can restore health. The reward for
defeating General Naomori Kawarada is Prayer Bead and Gourd Seed.
Easy Chained Ogre boss fight:
-----------------------------
The location of this boss fight is Ashina Outskirts - Outskirts Wall Stairway.
Immediately after this sculptor's idol, you will see the Chained Ogre upstairs. First,
kill all of the smaller enemies in the area. Before going upstairs to fight the Chained
Ogre, defeat the two guards at the bottom of the stairs. After going upstairs, go
around the left corner to kill the enemy with a spear. You will now only have to fight
the ogre. When the ogre attacks, press Left Analog-stick Up (Xbox controller) and dodge
twice to get behind the ogre where he cannot hit you. Land two to three hits and repeat.
Use this strategy to defeat the ogre without taking a single hit. The reward for
defeating the Chained Ogre is Prayer Bead and Shinobi Medicine Rank 1.
Increase difficulty:
--------------------
In New Game+, you will get the Kuro's Charm item early in the game, when collecting
the Ornamental Letter. After meeting Lord Kuro in the tower and gaining your primary
sword, you will have the option to give away Kuro's Charm. Give it away to increase
the difficulty by adding chip damage to all blocks. You will also gain the benefit of
approximately 17% additional money and XP. To reverse this effect, talk to the Old
Sculptor to regain Kuro's Charm. However, you will not be able to increase the
difficulty again until another New Game+.
Starter Tips:
-------------
* I’ll start by saying that parry is easier than people would think: it doesn’t
require strict timing. Sometimes I did find myself doing parries while being
sure that I did press the button too much early.
* Another tip is use robert’s firecrackers: I feel like they’ve been nerfed compared
to the first version of the game but they still can be pretty useful.
* Here it’s much more easier to skip enemies: as you sure noticed wolf is faster
and more agile.
* Try always use stealth when you can.
* Practice with Hanbei: when I did his training I quickly got used to all bandits
and all ashina’s soldiers’s moveset.
* Last but not least: unlock Mirikiri asap.
* Hope this helps.
Lapis Lazuli Guide:

How to obtain all Lapis Lazuli in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
-=What is Lapis Lazuli?=-
Lapis Lazuli is a key upgrade material for the four final prosthetic upgrades of
the Axe, Flame Vent, Shuriken, and Sabimaru.
Overall 10 Lapis Lazuli are required for all 4 upgrades, However only 6 Lapis
Lazuli can be obtained in one play through so you will have to start a second if
you wish to get all the upgrades.
Lapis lazuli cannot be obtained if the shura ending is chosen by obeying the iron
code when owl gives you a choice.
-=How to Obtain All 6 Lapis Lazuli=-
One dropped by Shichimen Warrior, found at the base of a waterfall in the Fountainhead
Palace area.
Two dropped by Demon of Hatred, found at the Ashina Castle Grounds late in the game.
Two purchasable from either of the pot nobles for 6 Treasure Carp Scales each.
One given by Pot Noble Harunaga or Pot Noble Koremori after feeding their ‘Truly
Precious Bait’ to the Great Colored Carp (found as an item next to the Pot Noble chosen).
How to Beat Demon of Hatred:

Simple and brief guide on how to beat the Demon of Hatred in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
-=Suzaku’s Lotus Umbrella=-
* 1 Spirit Emblem Per Use
With this tool, you negate any fire damage his physical attacks do besides his double
sweep in Phase 3. Simply time your umbrella as if it is your sword and you can perform
a follow up high damaging umbrella counter attack if you are close enough. The best
move to utilize this tool is for countering his high jump, especially if you want to
play aggressively.
* Malcontent’s Ring: 4 Spirit Emblems Per Use
This tool is extremely simple. You only have 3 uses where you can blow this finger
whistle and it allows for free attacks. Best used when combined with high damaging
Combat Arts or a flurry of attacks.
-=Strategy=-
As usual with Sekiro, the Shinobi Prosthetics are not absolutely required but are of
great convenience when attempting to beat this boss without cheese.
First thing to note is that this will be a lengthy fight on your first playthrough.
Depending on how much you have upgraded your Healing Gourds or Attack Power, you can
slightly quicken the fight but you still need to understand the fundamentals of the
fight.
Demon of Hatred does very high damage and has numerous massive AoE attacks! That
said, I know a lot of people will tell you to treat him like a Dark Souls boss for
this reason but my approach is quite different than playing passively against large
enemies. He is not particularly a hard boss, at least he never has been in my
experience (beat him on my 5th try without any prosthetic tools so it is possible).
For this fight, I actually prefer to be extremely aggressive. This is because yes,
DoH has massive AoE attacks, but his most exploitative weakness is actually that he
can not harm you and will whiff most of his melees if you are very close to his leg
or groin area.
With this playstyle, you mainly want to watch out for what attacks can hit you if
you are close. Essentially, any time he stomps/kicks the ground, you want to be
ready to deflect or block this. Deflecting is obviously ideal as you will recover
quicker.
On occasion, when you deflect his physical attacks, you will be pushed back a bit
so it is extremely important that you dodge forwards right after your deflect and
then attack. This insures proper spacing and your safety by his potential arm swipe
follow-up attack that occurs in Phase 2-3 more often.
The other way to avoid these attacks is by timing your dodges anytime he stomps
however, with 6 frames of invincibility, it takes a skilled hand to achieve this.
Other notable attacks include a rare headbutt or head slam down the middle. Use
the same principle, deflect or dodge and continue your turn to attack.
Sticking to his right leg (your left) / groin region, always go for 2-3 attacks
and do NOT get greedy! You are able to fit in a variety of different moves in
these windows however, this is a very basic guide so I will not be going in depth
that much BUT you can fit a single Mortal Draw after many of his attacks if you are
close and he does not use his disengaging, spacing attacks.
So again, It is possible to go for more but do so at your own risk. You will be
punished heavily for greed.
The main problem that makes this boss so tedious, is how often he will disengage
and create space between you or demand that you create space from him. As soon as
you detect the following attacks, simply sprint backwards or sprint and time your
jump.
His high jump attack has a large AoE and you will need to back up and possibly
jump as he lands however, this move is actually great for getting attacks in
because you can grapple back on him. If you mistime this grapple, you will not
be damaged however you won’t be back at the ideal range on him.
He also performs an attack where he shoots tracking fireballs at you. The solution
for this is quite simple: run away to your left or right. As soon as you see him
do a sort of head spin animation where he roars, you know the attack is over and
you can go attack him in his recovery (it is quite a long recovery so fit in
attacks).
During his 2nd phase, he will do a long range, straight fire attack that is a
perilous attack. Treat this similar to his jump attack if you are far away because
it can hit you. If you are close, this will whiff. If you are mid-far range, you
can always sprint to your left or right and time the jump. This also allows for
a follow up grapple.
In his 3rd phase, he has possible follow ups to previous physical attacks. A
notable one to mention is that he usually follows up an attack from his left
arm after his long stomp from his left foot. As previously mentioned, dodge
forward after deflecting the stomp and attack.
The final move I will talk about is an attack he exclusively performs in his
final phase. This is an easy to time but tricky sweep attack. The trick is that
after his first sweep, he performs another sweep. Simply time both jumps to counter
this attack.
Tips to Beat the Blazing Bull:
------------------------------
* It’s fine to burn.
* If you deflect his forward charge, he gets stunned and you can hit his head
for more damage.
* You get just a little bit of burn damage, and if you don’t miss your deflects,
you would kill him without using a single gourd.
How to Beat Owl (Father) Boss:
------------------------------
-=Tips for Phase 1=-
* His double slash attack will always leave him open to an attack.
* During his firecracker combo, you can dodge to the sides and get two hits or
a thrust attack on him.
* When he does his sweep attack you can either jump on him or not, if you don’t he
will charge an attack which gives you just three hits (to play it safe, I’d do two).
Keep in mind that depending where you dodge at that moment, he will counter accordingly.
* He will do a plunge attack after you heal, so if you’re far enough you can get a hit
on him.
-=General Tips=-
* First of all, have you “learnt” all the relevant combat arts? By that I mean
passive arts that will increase your damage dealt to opponent’s posture bar after
a successful deflect or what we call a “perfect parry/deflection”?
* Never use thrust against Owl the Father or he will mikiri counter you and you will
be dead.
* To be aggressive doesn’t mean just attacking him senselessly. Keep close to him
which mean you have to be cool and not panicking whenever he “twitches” or starting
to attack.
* Whenever you see him raising his sword above his head after a sequence of attacks,
STOP! Don’t move and keep watching his hands. If they start to move, dodge to the
side, left or right. And hit him once. You can also use mortal draw on him. I tend
to just hit him once because if you don’t time your mortal draw correctly, the
iframes of mortal draw can cause problem to you.
* For his firecracker move, just pay attention to his elbows. He will always “jerk”
his elbows twice to his left, i.e. your right. When you see this, you can either
dodge right or the way I do it, jumping back and after the firecracker exploded, I
run and dodge forward and hit him once.
* Always keep an eye of where your position is in relation to the room. This is to
make sure that you are not back against any column or wall, as this will affect
the camera and you will be f***ed. Owl’s AI knows that you are up against something
and will rush in to attack you. This will completely f*** up the camera. Subsequently,
you will not be able to see his attack or worst, the game will ignore any key that
you press, i.e. you will die. This is the most frustrating thing in the fight. It
took me long time to learn how to position myself in the room. Don’t think that the
room is so big. His attacking A.I. can push you against the wall or column.
* Owl has a fast posture recovering rate so you have to be patience. Remember this, if
his health is down to 30%, his recovering rate will slow down. Then 50%. And when his
health is down to 75%, it will stop recovering or recovering really slow. So, you
really have to be patience. Having high AP (Attacking Power) does not help. I mean
even if your AP is max out at 99, you won’t be able to defeat him any quicker. In
fact, it will take longer because all enemies will also be buffed up. As a matter
of fact, it is quicker to defeat Owl the father during the 1st playthrough then in
NG+ games.
* Watching tuitorial videos are fine. I have watched tons of them. At the end of the
day, you still have to find your own timing, how you react, how to spot his attacks,
etc.. There will be a learning curve. But from experience, you really have to learn to
keep calm. By all means, be excited but don’t let frustration take over you. If so,
STOP. Leave the game. Do something else and come back when your brain will be cleared
of thoughts about the game.
How to Master Sekiro:
---------------------
* You need to be able to do 200 right clicks per minute.
* That’s it. No other skill is necessary.
* In the early game I was really challenged. I died so many times. I tried to learn
the moves of each boss and time the counters… You actually don’t need any of that.
Just right click as quickly as you can and you’re gonna be fine.
* After mid-game I killed most bosses on the first few attempts, as soon as I learned
their perilous attack. You need to dodge or jump there. Apart from that, you just
punish your right mouse button and it will be enough to block all normal attacks
from any boss.
