Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection Cheats

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection

Hints and Tips:
---------------
Submitted by: David K.

Play as an Azurian Rider bonding with Monsties - hatch eggs, restore habitats
after Crystal Encroachment, and fight on a Power / Technical / Speed triangle
(rock-paper- scissors).

Before each round the UI shows who enemies will target. Meet their typed attack
with the winning type to trigger a Head-to-Head - you deal more damage and charge
Kinship; losing increases damage taken. Gold-colored enemy skills skip Head-to-
Heads entirely. Learn each species' habits (Velociprey favor Speed, etc.) and
react when monsters "act strangely" - that usually means their attack type
shifted mid-fight.

Open the in-battle status view to read elemental weaknesses and part break
points. Swap Rider weapons (six types across Slashing, Blunt, Piercing) and armor
resistances instead of forcing one loadout. Layered Armor keeps cosmetics while
you wear elemental counters. Carry Speed, Technical, and Power Monsties plus
varied elements and Riding Actions (Wall Climb, Swim, Fly) for field gates.

Double Attacks cancel the enemy turn - Rider uses a basic attack (not a Skill),
your Monstie matches the same attack type, and you win the Head-to-Head. Ogden's
traps help lock tough targets; Kora draws aggro with Gunlance guard skills.

Drain the Wyvernsoul bar under HP with Monstie Skills (Wyvernfell stat) or Hammer
basics. Topple opens a free beat-down turn or a Synchro Rush prompt - press it
fast for a full-party burst and huge Kinship. Bosses add a fatigue phase first
(most attacks miss) before the real topple. Fill Kinship to ride, heal combined
HP, and unleash Kinship Skills.

Gather every node while exploring - craft heals and bombs, and turn surplus mats
into Bronze, Silver, and Gold Trade Points at camps. Mushroom clusters east of
Broadleaf Basin Camp are an early herb farm. Pop sky Therabees for trade beads;
find Poogies for bonus trade rewards.

Use Rite of Channeling at camps - move gene slots, hunt missing genes, and chase
bingo rows for attack/element bonuses. Habitat Restoration reintroduces extinct
species, spawns their eggs in new regions, and can hatch dual-element Monsties
with random Egg Skills to channel elsewhere. Send Excursions for S-rank genes
when keys allow.

Finish each ranger's Side Stories - new weapons, Monsties, combo recipes, and
Poogie trackers. Swap Battle Allies, their weapons, Monsties, pouch items, and AI
tactics (same target, big monsters first, etc.) before Elder Dragons and Invasive
fights. Cook at the Ranger Mess before bosses - defense meals saved several early
wipe checks.

-= Barrel Felyne rescue =-
Barrel Felynes flee fast and shrug normal hits. Throw Big Barrel Bombs or knives,
or set Battle Ally Kora - she opens with Launch Bomb and one-shots the whole
pack. Saving them drops Pawprint Stamps (Gold Trade Points). About fifty rescues
tie to an achievement.

How to make money (Trade Points):
---------------------------------
* No classic Zenny shop loop - Melynx Emporium at towns/camps takes Trade Points
* Bronze / Silver / Gold tiers buy potions, combo recipes, decorations, Catalyst
Keys, forging spheres, and limited Excursion talismans
* Passive income - gather every resource node; many drops convert to points when
  traded
* Combat drops - monster parts and trade items from hunts and subquests
* Therabees - orange sky blobs; Large Therabeads pay Gold points
* Barrel Felynes - Pawprint Stamps (Gold); Great Barrel Felynes pay more but need
  heavier damage items
* Poogies and Side Story trade tickets - bonus point bundles
* Amiibo scan once per day at appearance chests or Emporium - random points or
  Vital Essence
* Repeatable loop - clear zones, sell surplus trade goods at camp, buy
  recipes/spheres you still need

Secrets:
--------
* Free demo covers opening hours; save transfers to full game on the same
  platform
* Nine endangered species eggs sit behind Invasive Monster clears (PC Gamer lists
  dens)
* Sixteen mutated deviant forms unlock via habitat conditions and restoration
  milestones
* Dual-element Monsties from cross-region restoration carry bonus Egg Skills for
  channeling
* Lunatic difficulty unlocks after one story clear
* Layered Armor and save-data bonuses (Wilds, Stories 2, etc.) unlock cosmetic
sets - scan Amiibo daily for extra trade currency

Solutions:
----------
-= Head-to-Head loop =-
1. Read the target arrow and predicted enemy attack type
2. Pick Power > Technical > Speed > Power
3. Match Monstie type or swap to a counter Monstie before confirming
4. Use Double Attacks on priority targets; Skills when safe for Wyvernfell/topple
   setup
5. Ride at full Kinship, break parts that shut down nuisance moves (Gypceros head
   flash)

-= Optional boss too hard =-
Leave and return after levels, gene bingos, Emporium spheres, and Ranger Mess
buffs. Red challenge rooms and Elder Dragons expect typed teams and part breaks.

-= Habitat restoration checklist =-
* Beat the Invasive guarding an extinct species egg
* Hatch and raise the Monstie, then release it at a camp in the target biome
* Revisit dens for new egg patterns and mutation unlock requirements
* Channel S-rank genes from Excursions onto your main team

Reference:
----------
-= Attack triangle (Head-to-Head) =-
* Power - Red; Technical; Speed.
* Technical - Green; Speed; Power.
* Speed - Blue; Power; Technical.

-= Battle allies (default roles) =-
* Simon - Katana; Fawn (Ice/Speed); Aggressive, high evasion.
* Thea - Bow; Kagachi (Thunder); Poogie Parade scales with finds.
* Kora - Gunlance; Gravy (Fire/Power); Tank; Launch Bomb vs Barrel cats.
* Ogden - Hunting Horn; Chirpy (Technical); Traps, status knives, buffs.
* Gaul - Katana; Legia (Ice/Speed); Murray Multiplicator debuff bomb.
* Eleanor - Great Sword; Angie (Fire/Power); Heroics-style low-HP damage.

-= Wyvernsoul and topple flow =-
* Skills and Hammer basics shave the soul gauge; part breaks spike it
* Regular mobs topple once drained - free turn or Synchro Rush
* Elites fatigue first (blue gauge), then topple after red gauge breaks again
* After recovery most soul gauge refills - plan burst windows
