Thou Shalt Not Coast:
---------------------
This is sim racing heresy, the highest of sins, but it's LMU's golden rule.
Coasting—applying neither throttle nor brake—through a corner will cause the
car's rear end to become light and unstable, resulting in a sudden, unrequested,
and deeply humiliating pirouette into the nearest solid object.
The Fix: You must always maintain a "loaded" chassis. As you're easing off
the brakes to turn in, smoothly add a little "maintenance throttle" (5-15%).
This dark art keeps the car's weight settled and predictable. It will feel
unnatural, like rubbing your stomach & patting your head while defusing a bomb,
but it's the secret handshake to ending those infuriating spins.
Learn the "Squeal of Doom":
---------------------------
Your ears are your co-pilot, your early warning system, and your best defense
against terminal embarrassment. The tires are always chattering but you need to
listen for one specific sound.
A normal screech is fine; that's the sound of grip. But when that screech suddenly
shifts to a higher -> clearer more piercing pitch—that's the sound of grip packing
its bags & leaving… that's the sound of physics giving you the finger. It's the
final, desperate scream of rubber before it completely gives up on you & your life
choices… the moment you hear it, ease off your inputs, or you're already spinning.
Practice in Isolation:
----------------------
For reasons known only to the developers and perhaps a shadowy cabal of racing
purists, there is no giant, friendly "PRACTICE ALONE" button on the main menu.
To practice without the chaos of a full grid, you must seek out the hidden
"hermit mode."
The Fix: Go to the Race Weekend screen, click on Advanced Settings, go to the
Sessions tab, and enable the "Private Practice" toggle. This grants you the track
all to yourself. Use this sacred space to master the tips on this list, free from
the judgment of 40 other drivers who seem to have been born in a secret Swiss lab
with steering wheels for hands
