Hints and Tips:
---------------
-= Save file backup =-
PC saves live outside the game folder. Back up before copying or replacing files.
* Path (paste into Explorer): %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\kingdomcome2
* Folders such as playline0 hold autosaves and manual saves.
* Copy the whole kingdomcome2 folder before experiments.
* Steam Cloud can restore older saves if a local copy goes wrong.
-= Persistent settings with user.cfg =-
Many console variables can load automatically from a plain-text user.cfg in the game
install folder (same directory as system.cfg, not the Saves folder).
1. Enable -devmode (see Cheat Codes: How to activate).
2. Create user.cfg in the KingdomComeDeliverance2 folder with one command per line.
Example lines: wh_sys_NoSavePotion = 1 / wh_pl_LockPickingShakeOverride = 0 /
wh_pl_showfirecursor = 1
3. Save as user.cfg (All Files in Notepad), not user.cfg.txt.
4. Add to Steam Launch Options: -devmode +exec user.cfg (both parts required).
5. Start the game once to confirm the settings stick; edit user.cfg any time with a
text editor and restart.
-= Combat and survival =-
* Master strikes and ripostes beat mashing. Train on early bandits before chasing
armored foes.
* Stamina governs attacks and blocks. Back off when the bar empties instead of trading
until exhaustion.
* Eat cooked food and sleep in owned beds to keep nourishment and energy up; potions
replace food later but cost alchemy time.
* Repair gear at the right specialist. A high-condition piece looted from a bandit
often beats buying worn stock from merchants.
* Wear high-charisma clothing for Speech checks. Troskowitz tailor stock or a careful
night theft of a burgher coat helps early dialogue options.
-= Lockpicking and thievery =-
* Pick Very Easy and Easy locks at night first. Failed attempts break lockpicks and
raise noise.
* During Miller Kreyzl's Materia Prima quest, ask to learn thievery. His training
chest in the mill shack resets after each pick for early Lockpicking XP until Henry
outgrows it.
* Pickpocket sleeping NPCs after midnight for Thievery XP. Inn bedrooms with open
doors (Betty in Troskowitz, Kreyzl's house) are safe practice spots.
* Stolen gear is flagged near where you stole it. Sell far from the victim or wait for
the stolen tag to fade before wearing it back in town.
-= Haggling and Speech =-
* Haggle on every buy and sell. Even a few Groschen add up and train Speech for harder
checks later.
* Higher merchant reputation makes the next haggle easier in that shop.
* Speech, Charisma, and Alcohol thresholds show on dialogue options before you commit.
-= How to make Groschen =-
* Console: wh_cheat_money "amount" adds Groschen instantly (see Cheat Codes).
* Early quest: follow cabbage trails south of Semine to Pepa's cave thief, then report
him to Bailiff Thrush in Troskowitz for about 800 Groschen (see Solution).
* Dice: rent a bed, save, bet heavily, reload on a loss, sleep and save after wins.
Troskowitz and wagoner inns work early.
* Sell bandit armor and weapons to the right merchant type. Armorers pay more for
mail; swords go to swordsmiths.
* Fistfight tournaments and side quests pay lump sums; haggle every payout.
-= How to farm skill XP =-
* Lockpicking: Materia Prima training chest loop, then real chests at higher
difficulties for bigger XP ticks.
* Thievery: Kreyzl's pickpocket drill, then nightly sleeping targets.
* Speech: haggle every transaction.
* Alchemy: Strong Saviour Schnapps batches on the free Troskowitz bench (see below).
* Scholar and other stats: read skill books when you find them; quest rewards
sometimes grant free levels.
-= Alchemy bench =-
* Troskowitz alchemist sells herbs; the shack bench to the right of the shop is free
and never locked.
* Strong Saviour Schnapps is the best early save-game fuel. Brew before long dungeon
runs.
-= Strong Saviour Schnapps =-
Find the alchemist shop in town and use the free bench in the shack to the right of
the shop. Nettle is easy to find around the village; belladonna is hard to find, so
buy it from the shop. Sell herbs around town to afford belladonna.
-= Recipe =-
* Pour wine.
* Add 1 nettle to the cauldron.
* Lower the cauldron over the fire.
* Pump the bellows 5 times.
* While nettle is boiling, grind 2 belladonna with mortar and pestle.
* Add ground belladonna to the cauldron.
* Flip the sandglass once (IMPORTANT).
* Immediately raise the cauldron.
* Use a phial to collect.
-= Notes =-
* Step 7 (sandglass flip) is the most important step even if it looks insignificant.
* You do not need to wait for the whole glass to finish; the extra few seconds of
animation is just the right boil time for belladonna.
* Skip the sandglass flip and you likely get regular quality Saviour Schnapps instead
of Strong.
* Done correctly, the recipe nets 3 Strong Saviour Schnapps (4 with the Secret of
Matter perk).
Secrets:
--------
-= Free Troskowitz alchemy shack =-
The bench in the shack right of the Troskowitz alchemist shop costs nothing to use and
stays available through Act 1. Strong Saviour Schnapps brewed here funds saves before
you unlock your own lab.
-= Pepa sauerkraut loop =-
If you spare cabbage thief Pepa in his cave south of Semine, he trades sauerkraut for
cabbages indefinitely. Reporting him to the bailiff removes the loop but pays about
800 Groschen once.
Solutions:
----------
-= Cabbage thief reward =-
1. From Troskowitz, head south toward Semine and follow scattered cabbages into the
forest cave.
2. Speak with Pepa. You may trade cabbages or leave peacefully.
3. To claim the bailiff payout instead, return to Bailiff Thrush in Troskowitz and
report the theft.
4. Collect about 800 Groschen. Pepa and the sauerkraut loop disappear after the
report.
-= Materia Prima thievery training =-
1. During Miller Kreyzl's quest, choose dialogue to learn thievery.
2. In his mill shack, pick the Very Easy training chest, loot the lockpicks inside,
and repeat until Henry says the lock is too easy.
3. Practice pickpocketing with Kreyzl's hired hand in the same area for extra Thievery
XP.
4. Move on to real chests and sleeping NPCs at night once the trainer chest stops
resetting.
-= Wedding Crashers gold dice badge =-
1. At the Semine wedding, talk to Bailiff Thrush in the barn or courtyard (blue hat).
2. Beat Chamberlain Ulrich and Blacksmith Radovan in dice for their tin badges. Losing
forces a drink; do not get too drunk to continue.
3. After the wedding phase advances, speak to Apothecary Emmerich. He lost his badge;
tell Thrush instead of playing Emmerich.
4. Defeat Thrush in dice. He already lost the gold badge to Innkeeper Betty.
5. Challenge Betty in the courtyard. Pass Speech if you cleared Invaders for a 50
Groschen bet; otherwise wager 200 Groschen.
6. Win the match to take the Gold Wedding Badge and your bet back.
-= Wedding invitation choice =-
1. To enter the wedding legally, finish either Blacksmith Radovan's side work or
Miller Kreyzl's Materia Prima chain before the feast deadline.
2. Radovan pays better if you want swordsmithing gear; Kreyzl unlocks thievery
training and mill access. You only need one invite path.

----------

amount). Condition is 0.0-1.0 for CreateItem.

-= Console notes =-
* Commands are case-sensitive on some builds; type them exactly as listed in Cheat
Codes.
* wh_cheat_addItem accepts quoted item IDs or internal item names depending on build.
* Console use on PC does not disable Steam achievements in Kingdom Come: Deliverance
II per developer statements cross-checked in community guides; still avoid
achievement unlock commands if you want organic progress.
