Fruit Sudoku 4 Cheats

Fruit Sudoku 4

Hints and Tips:
---------------
Submitted by: David K.

-= Core Controls and Win Signal =-
Choose a fruit or vegetable from the palette along the bottom of the screen, then
click an empty cell to place it. Treat every placement as final: placed pictures
cannot be changed or undone.

* Check the full row, column, and 5x5 block before clicking an empty cell. A bad
placement cannot be corrected in place.
* Watch the lower-right arrow. It turns yellow when the grid is completed correctly;
click it to load the next puzzle.
* Use the music icon at the upper right to mute or restore the background music.

-= Read the Board Correctly =-
Fruit Sudoku 4 uses a 25x25 Sudoku board. Thick borders divide it into twenty-five
5x5 blocks, and the bottom palette contains 25 fruit and vegetable symbols. The
common "5x5 Sudoku" description refers to those blocks, not to a five-cell-wide
board.

Every symbol must appear once in each 25-cell row, once in each 25-cell column, and
once in each 5x5 block. Treat the prefilled pictures as givens. Every new placement
must satisfy all three units at the same time.

* Start with rows, columns, or blocks that are already dense with givens. They
produce forced placements faster than wide-open areas.
* Work one symbol at a time instead of scanning all 25 candidates in every cell.
* Leave uncertain cells empty. A confirmed move elsewhere often resolves them.
* Expect endless puzzle levels rather than a finite campaign.

-= Give the 25 Symbols Stable Names =-
Do not rely on fruit names when several icons look similar. Number the bottom palette
from left to right as P01 through P25 and keep that scratch legend for the entire
puzzle.

This is scratch notation, not an in-game label. Write P07 instead of "the small green
fruit." A fixed code makes every symbol unambiguous when you check a difficult
deduction.

-= First-Pass Priorities =-
* Clear row singles first. If a row is missing one symbol, fill its only empty cell.
* Clear column singles next. Each completed line constrains five separate 5x5 blocks.
* Scan dense blocks. Exclude cells whose row or column already contains the symbol.
* After each placement, rescan the affected row, column, and block immediately.

Solving the 25x25 Grid:
-----------------------
-= Fast Scan Loop =-
1. Pick the 5x5 block with the fewest empty cells.
2. Choose one symbol missing from that block and locate the same symbol in the five
crossing rows and five crossing columns.
3. Eliminate every empty cell whose row or column already contains that symbol.
4. Place the symbol if only one legal cell remains inside the block.
5. Rescan the completed cell's row and column for new singles before changing blocks.
6. Repeat with the next missing symbol until the block stops producing eliminations.

-= Naked and Hidden Singles =-
A naked single is an empty cell with only one legal symbol. A hidden single works in
the opposite direction: a row, column, or block may have many empty cells, but one
missing symbol fits only one of them. Hidden singles are especially useful on a
25-symbol board.

* For a cell single, check that cell against its complete row, column, and 5x5 block.
* For a symbol single, choose one missing symbol and scan every empty cell in the
  unit for that symbol only.
* Prefer symbol scans over full candidate lists. They keep the working set small and
  reduce mistakes between similar icons.

-= Locked Candidates =-
Use the 5x5 block borders to eliminate candidates outside the block. Each block
intersects five long rows and five long columns, so these restrictions can clear
large parts of the board.

* Pointing row: if every possible cell for P12 inside one block lies on the same row,
remove P12 from the rest of that row outside the block.
* Pointing column: if every possible cell for a symbol inside one block lies in the
same column, remove that symbol from the rest of that column.
* Claiming row: if every remaining position for a symbol in one row lies inside one
5x5 block, remove that symbol from the other cells in the block.
* Claiming column: apply the same rule when one column confines all remaining
positions for a symbol to one block.

-= Pairs and Triples =-
Use pairs and triples only after singles and locked candidates stop paying off. Keep
the search local to one row, column, or 5x5 block rather than penciling large
candidate sets across the entire grid.

* Naked pair: if two cells in one unit can contain only the same two symbols, remove
those symbols from every other cell in that unit.
* Naked triple: if three cells collectively contain only the same three candidates,
remove those candidates from the other cells in the unit.
* Hidden pair: if two missing symbols can appear only in the same two cells of a
unit, restrict those cells to that pair.
* After any useful elimination, return to singles and symbol scans before searching
  for another pair or triple.

Board Management:
-----------------
-= Use Coordinates on Scratch Paper =-
Label rows R01 through R25 from top to bottom and columns C01 through C25 from left
to right. The board has five horizontal bands of five rows and five vertical stacks
of five columns. Name a block by band and stack, such as B2.4.

* Record a placement as R08C17=P06 when you need to revisit it later.
* Record a small live candidate set as R08C17={P06,P14}.
* Keep the P01-P25 palette legend beside your coordinate notes.
* Mark givens separately from entries you placed yourself.

-= Control Visual Errors =-
* Compare palette position before comparing artwork. Similar green or red icons are
easier to distinguish as P09 and P18 than by appearance alone.
* Trace the complete row and column before committing a hard-to-read symbol. Do not
stop after checking the local 5x5 block.
* Work in short passes. After several placements in one area, rescan the affected
band and stack instead of continuing from memory.
* If adjacent icons begin to blur together, stop placing symbols and rebuild the
local candidate list from the givens.

DLC and Visual Sets:
--------------------
-= What the DLC Changes =-
Fruit Sudoku 4 has ten alternate fruit-image DLC packs. Each pack keeps the same
25x25 Sudoku rules and supplies another set of 25 images; the DLC descriptions also
advertise UHD support at 3840x2160.

The lower-left area contains a clearly labeled "DLC" control for the image-set packs.
If you own alternate packs, use the clearest set at your normal display resolution;
readability matters more than cosmetic preference on a 25x25 board.

Solutions:
----------
-= Stuck With No Obvious Placement =-
1. Stop scanning random cells and pick the densest unfinished 5x5 block.
2. List only the symbols missing from that block using your P01-P25 legend.
3. Choose a missing symbol and eliminate cells through its crossing rows and columns.
4. Repeat for every missing symbol. Place any symbol reduced to one legal cell.
5. If no single appears, find a symbol confined to one row or column inside the block
and apply the locked-candidate rule outside the block.
6. If the block still stalls, note candidates only for its unresolved cells and check
   for naked or hidden pairs.
7. After the first elimination or placement, rebuild the affected row, column, and
block scan from the new board state.

-= You Placed the Wrong Fruit =-
1. Stop immediately. A placed picture cannot be changed or undone.
2. Do not continue solving from a known-wrong cell; the board is no longer reliable.
3. Use the top-left X to leave the current attempt, then start a fresh puzzle.
4. Rebuild your P01-P25 legend and replay only entries you had already confirmed.
5. Before placing that symbol again, check its row, column, and 5x5 block.

-= The Grid Is Too Dense to Read Reliably =-
1. Label the bottom palette P01 through P25 from left to right on scratch paper.
2. Label the board R01-R25 and C01-C25 so you never have to recount a cell.
3. Work on one 5x5 block at a time. Ignore the rest of the board except for the
crossing rows and columns you are checking.
4. Record only the few live candidates needed for the current deduction. Do not build
25-symbol candidate lists for every empty cell.
5. Use the lower-left "DLC" control if an installed image set is clearer.

-= Completed Grid Will Not Advance =-
1. Check the lower-right arrow. A correct completed grid turns it yellow.
2. If the arrow stays white, scan every row for a duplicate or missing symbol.
3. Repeat the check for every column, then for all twenty-five 5x5 blocks.
4. If you find a wrong placement, leave the attempt; there is no move-level undo.
5. When the arrow turns yellow, click it to load the next puzzle.
