Our protagonist, Noah Baker explains his survivor story that took place
10 years ago when he was 18.
Noah finds himself inside of a laundromat at midnight, he looks around
finding a room leading down to somewhere, looking down there, he finds
a long row of washing machines, and also finds a man asking for bleach,
after interacting with the man, Noah is told by him that he is at his
destination, revealing he’s in a dream.
Noah’s father, Mr. Baker, wakes him up, letting him know that the key
to Mr. Carson, whom he is house-sitting for, is under the fake rock in
the backyard, he goes to retrieve the key from the backyard and enters
the house. Soon after he enters the house Mr. Carson contacts him via his
cellphone, and tells him he got it from his father.
After Noah is assigned by Mr. Carson to fix his computer, he goes to relax
in the living-room, his friend, Evelyn, asks if the place has a TV and if
he’d like to watch a re-run with her about a wacky show about cooking with
somebody named Jeffrey.
After watching the re-run, Mr. Carson contacts Noah and asks him to get
groceries, using money he left behind. Noah goes to Knucks, the small
grocery story and encounters Turner, one of the popular kids at his school.
After doing a handful of chores for Mr. Carson, somebody’s knocking on the
door, Noah reluctantly opens the door to find a pizza-man at the door.
After taking the pizza, Noah is contacted by Mr. Carson to let him know
that he was the one who ordered the pizza.
Somebody knocks on the door again, Noah, more trustful, answers the door,
nobody is there, when he looks down, he sees flowers.
After eating the pizza, Noah decides to finish his homework, then falling
asleep at the desk. To Noah’s dismay, the power has been cut. Going outside
to fix it, he believes the prankster at his school, Turner, has been messing
with him since Turner knows he’s currently house-sitting for Roy Carson.
