Guide to Farmers Per Tile:
--------------------------
Written by Space Legos

Without any details, simply put, you have only two concerns for farm
size vs farmer count. Those are, ofc, farmer count for best yeald. And
secondly fertilizer. If your plot is too small, you are wasting fertilizer
(and I think, cows too).

After some basic math, the optimal tile size per farmer is 20. So
calculate x times y, divide by 20 => that’s the number of farmers you
want. Rounding is tricky. I did some trial and error, but I won’t try
and copy paste an excel sheet on this mid 90’s forum tech.

But not all combinations are made equal. When you plant a crop, and have
a number of farmers selected, the game will calculate a min / max yeald
for that field. Below is a list of the best ones by my math:

* 5×10 with 2 farmers (25 tiles per farmer).
* 6×12 with 3 farmers (24 tiles per framer).
* 8×9 with 3 farmers (24 tiles per farmer).
* 9×10 with 4 farmers. (22 tiles per farmer).

Everything else, is not great. With 10×11 and 11×12 being also sorta good.
With 5, respectively 6 workers.

That being said, the winners for me are the 72 tile farms (6*12 & 8×9).
They fall SLIGHTLY behind 5×10, the theoretical best. But 50 tiles is
just too small and a waste of fertilizer.

If you want to maximize fertilizer, 10×11 and 11×12 win out.
Whereas 12×12 is solidly middle of the pack.

How to Kill Wolves at Start of a New Game:
------------------------------------------
You can select all your villagers at once to take down a wolf or two in the
beginning of the game without losing anyone.

You can also individually select villagers and run them to the town hall if
they’re close enough to make it without dying.

I typically start the game by building 2-3 hunters right away, even before by
town hall is finished sometimes, and position them at the outskirts of your
initial area for both the food and wolf protection.

Try to avoid placing your town center near a wolf den, is my advice. Get
together at least two hunters and find their den to destroy.

The hunters will then collect all dead wolfs and will only be busy slaughtering
until the 2 wolfs dens respawn again and always, make sure you town center is
far enough from wolf dens to start safelty and avoid the area until you can
have 2-3 hunters (or a tower).

How Can You Deal with Raiders:
------------------------------
The best thing to do is layer your outer city walls 3x – make triple gates –
make more wall sections for important buildings that have Gold/Steel/Luxury
goods.

You also need Soldiers + Armour/Swords/Crossbows so make sure you have enough
equipment for troops supplied, Raiders target Vaults/Resource Storage or
Blacksmiths/Foundries so protect them with extra gate wall defence.

Tower arrows dont do that much damage to Rams and Heavy Raiders you need to
use soldiers rally flag to break rams before they can punch holes through
walls, the more walls and towers you have to slow down raiders and shave
numbers is best just keep in mind towers cost gold tax and need 1 villager
to function so plan out how many you can afford.

Tips to Deal with Raiders:
--------------------------
Written by Alexaraas

First of all, I always try to pick a place near the edge of the map (and especially
the corner or near a lake or a big mountain) so it can be easier to defend. This
way you can use mountains to terraform and basically “close” some areas to make
them attack from a specific place only (sorry but i don’t know how else to explain
this). You can also build roads going outside your city to kinda “guide” them
wherever you want

In the early game, hunters and a couple of towers with walls around them should
be more than enough.

I usually take my time before upgrading to Tier 3 because they really become
stronger. So first gather lots of stones for the upgraded walls and whatever else
you might need, and when you feel ready, then upgrade.

The trick is to keep in mind that the raiders will focus your Trading Post, Banks,
Storehouses, armories, foundries and blacksmiths. So try to put these closer
together so it’ll be easier to defend. They also focus upgraded markets but that’s
a different story.

Don’t be afraid to build more towers than you might need. You only need to keep
guards/soldiers for a few months until the raid is done. Raiders usually attack
every two years between like February and June/July. Make sure you buy swords,
crossbows and armors and make some shields, they really make a huge difference!
And build walls. A lot of them.

Some people even make “labyrinths” with walls which are basically a death trap,
they just keep running while getting shot by the towers. And just focus the rams
with either hunters or guards (from the towers) whenever you can.
