Unlock All Those Lives As Soon As Possible!:

After you're several steps into the game, it's your job to unlock
all 14 Lives. All of them, that is (all but Farmer/Artist, see above).
You'll need to speak with some NPCs, maybe complete a short tutorial
- which, btw, 3DS masters will find they can easily circumvent if you're
familiar with the region. Unlock 'em; you'll thank yourself.
Fast Travel Like You Own the Place!:

The quality of life here is chef's kiss. Leave your map open. Look at
a place you've been? Warp there instantly. Past, Present, Ginormosia
- click and voila. Zoom out, scroll around, remember those warp points
at Eternia Village, the Capital, those caves, Quetzal Nest, Faraway Island.
It saves SO much time.
-=Pro Tip 1=-
At the Life menu, a button (Square, I believe) to "Go to Lifemaster."
Warp to the current Life's instructor straight away. Useful for fast rank-ups.
-=Pro Tip 2=-
You'll eventually get a "Teleportation Gate" for Ginormosia (the ginormous
open-world level). This brings you to where you last were there, and not
to a huge tower. Extremely handy for serious exploration.
