Use Terrain to Battle Like a Pro:

War isn’t just about who’s got the bigger stick. It’s about where you
swing it from. High ground hands you a damage boost, forests give you
a defensive buff, and choke points are murder funnels for the other
guy. Park archers on cliffs, lure enemies into kill zones, and make
them regret every step. And whatever you do, don’t send your prized
hero charging uphill into a fortified position — that’s how you end
up a cautionary tale.
Your Hero Is More Than Just a Warrior:

Heroes aren’t just walking stat sticks with a sword habit. After the
first Tidefall, you unlock the Empire Council, where Heroes can be
slotted into leadership roles for massive empire-wide bonuses. That
combat god with a huge Industry buff might be worth more on the council
bench than in the field. Swap roles as your needs change and don’t let
good bonuses gather dust.
Know Your Currencies: Dust vs. Influence:

Dust is your day-to-day cash — army upkeep, instant builds, impulse
buys when you can’t be bothered to wait. Influence is the big-picture
power: you spend it to claim territory, expand cities, do diplomacy,
and bring Minor Factions under your thumb. Run out of Dust and you
stall. Run out of Influence and you choke. Keep both flowing.
