Alpha Runner
Hints and Tips:
---------------
Submitted by: David K.
-= Read the next platform first =-
Each run uses randomized platform sequences, so memorizing one route will not carry a
score attempt. Before leaving a platform, identify the next landing side and any
obstacle, then jump only after the destination is clear.
-= Keep moving without rushing =-
Some platforms disappear if you remain on them too long. Use the first moment after
landing to read the next obstacle, but avoid waiting for a perfect setup that lets
the floor vanish beneath you.
-= Collect the white square =-
Progress comes from reaching the white square on each platform. Aim your landing so
the square is on your path to the next edge; detouring after touchdown costs time and
can expose you to a disappearing platform.
-= Letter-prompt timing =-
During the letter mini-game, watch the moving prompt instead of the runner. Press the
displayed letter when it reaches the center marker; pressing early because you
recognized the symbol is less reliable than matching the marker.
-= Reset after a mini-game =-
Normal includes mini-games that interrupt the platform rhythm. After a mini-game
ends, re-center your hands and read the first platform before accelerating again so
the old timing does not carry into the next jump.
-= Practice one obstacle at a time =-
Tutorial acts as a practice room where obstacles can be selected. Rehearse the
approach, takeoff, and landing separately, then return to a score run after you can
clear the pattern several times without improvising.
-= Speed Run route reading =-
Speed Run asks you to finish a lap as quickly as possible. Choose the landing edge
before takeoff and keep corrections small; a clean route saves more time than a blind
jump followed by recovery.
-= MLG orientation changes =-
MLG removes the mini-games but can flip the view and reverse the controls. When this
happens, make one short test input, confirm the new direction, and only then commit
to the next full jump.
-= Build leaderboard attempts =-
Global and Friends Only leaderboards separate worldwide scores from scores among
Steam friends. Start with a warm-up run, then restart after an early mistake instead
of carrying a weak opening through a long random sequence.
