Unlocking Risk of Rain 2 Characters:
------------------------------------
First ensure RoR2 is closed. Then enter the following path
(if you have a different installation path, enter accordingly)
* Go to Steam –> userdata –> your user ID –> 632360 –> remote –> UserProfiles
* Open the XML Document (Should be only one if you have one profile)
* Add the following to the XML Document at the very end:
Characters.Huntress< /unlock>
Characters.Toolbot< /unlock>
Characters.Bandit< /unlock>
Characters.Mage< /unlock>
Characters.Engineer< /unlock>
Characters.Mercenary< /unlock>
How to Unlock The Mercenary:
----------------------------
Sacrifice yourself to the obelisk, which requires you to luck out on getting
an event message in your chat log saying “A celestial orb has appeared”. You
then are required to kill the boss before the teleporter is powered up, and a
white blue portal will take you to an obelisk and when killing yourself at it,
you will unlock the mercenary.
How to Unlock The Mage:
-----------------------
Follow these steps;
* Get 11 lunar coins.
* Activate a lunar(?) shrine, costs 1 coin.
* Get the message “a blue orb has appeared.”
* Beat the level, don’t teleport.
* Look around for a blue portal, and you’ll get to buy them for 10 lunar
coins in a special shop.
How to Get/Unlock the Artificer/Survivor Character:
---------------------------------------------------
When killing enemies, they have a small chance to drop an item known as “Lunar
Coin”, and these coins transfer between runs so you can save them up easily if
you are lucky with their spawns.
With 10 of these coins, you can free the Artificer and unlock the character
(although keep in mind this only works for the person that spent the coins and
does not unlock for everyone in the lobby) However, to get to the map in which
the Artificer is found, you need to go through a blue portal.
(NOT A CELESTIAL PORTAL)
In order to get the blue portal to open, you must donate a single lunar coin to
what is called a “Newt Statue” which is a small rock with blue spikes that is
usually find in a crevice or some other hard to find location. (Due to this,
you actually need 11 coins in total to get to the shop and then free the survivor)
Once you donate a token to the statue, it will say “A blue orb has appeared” in
chat. Once you get this message, you must activate the teleporter and defeat
the boss before it is full charged. (99%)
After this, assuming you got the blue orb message in chat, the portal will open
and you can enter the bazaar to unlock the new class.
To clarify, you do not NEED to do the newt statue process to get a blue portal
to appear, however it has a relatively rare chance to appear on its own.
How to Unlock All Characters:

-=Commando=-
He's there the moment you start playing, nothing else to say about him.
-=Huntress=-
Just as the log entry said, just beat 3 levels in a row and there she is, ready
to shoot at stuff for eternity.
Note: You cannot unlock the huntress by completing a level by going through the
blue portal.
-=MUL-T=-
Beat the first level 5 times, not including teleport, so you can go and die of
fall damage if you wish to do so, for some reason. Have fun, tho!
Completing a teleporter event requires you to both get it to 99% and kill the
boss(es), nothing else.
-=Mercenary=-
Go through a Celestial Teleporter (which seemingly spawns on loops),
climb your way through the new area and jump.
-=Engineer=-
Beat 30 levels.
-=Artificer=-
Here's where it gets tricky, as this is mostly info I've gathered from other
people (and this is not how a guide should be made but come on it's the day the
game's been released on):
-=Get 11 lunar coins=-
* Activate a newt shrine, costs 1 coin.
* Get the message "a blue orb has appeared."
* Beat the level, don't teleport.
* Look around for a blue portal, and you'll get to buy them for 10 lunar coins
in a special shop.

Dedicated Server with Docker:
-----------------------------
Written by darkpuma
Easily host your own dedicated server. No technical skills required. Runs anywhere.
-=Setup=-
Host your Risk of Rain 2 dedicated server anywhere using Docker.
You need Docker.
Log into your machine and run:
docker run avivace/ror2server:0.1 -p 27015:27015 -p 27015:27015/udp
Any Linux VPS will work.
For decent performance, you need at least 3 GB of free space and 2 GB of RAM.
-=Join the Server=-
Players need to start Risk of Rain 2, open the console pressing CTRL + ALT + `
and insert this command:
cl_password ""; connect "SERVER_IP:27015";
Replace SERVER_IP with the public IP of the server running the Docker Image.
How to Become Heretic:
----------------------
Ritten by eBlittz
So, to become Heretic, you need these 4 items.
* Visions of Heresy
* Hooks of Heresy
* Strides of Heresy
* Essence of Heresy
All these are Lunar items, therefore can be hard to get.
-=Obtaining the Items=-
To get the 4 items you need, there are 3 ways I would recommend:
1.Continue looping in one run to keep going to the Bazaar Between Time.
There, you have to buy the Visions, Hooks, Strides, and Essence whenever
they appear in the shop.
2.Continuously reset the Bazaar to get the Visions, Hooks, Strides, and Essence
when they appear.
3.This is the cheapest and easiest way: If you don’t already have the Artifact
of Command, go to Bulwark’s Ambry to get it. (Artifact Code below) Start a new
run with the Artifact of Command active, then either use a natural spawned Blue
Orb or the Newt Alter to go to the Bazaar Between Time. There, buy 4 Lunar items.
These will turn into Lunar Command Essence. Then, turn the Lunar Command Essence
into the Visions, Hooks, Strides, and Essence of Heresy.
-=Heretic’s Stats=-
This just shows Heretic’s stats.
They are:
* Health 440 (+132 per level)
* Health Regen -6/s (-1.2 per level) — This makes Heretic LOSE HP over time
instead of gaining it.
* Damage 18 (+3.6 per level)
* Speed 8 m/s
* Armor 0
Some ways to negate the negative HP regen are:
* Transcendence — This makes all but one HP to shield and you can’t die to the
negative HP regen, since it doesn’t affect shield.
Cautious Slugs will negate the effect while out of combat.
* The Gnarled Woodsprite will negate the effect while at level 6 or above.
Negating the negative HP regen is extremely important while playing the Heretic,
as otherwise ou will basically get one-hit by anything.
Void Fiend Guide:
-----------------
Written by shelby
This is an all you need to know guide to void fiend and how to basically never die.
-=Guide to Void Fiend=
To start I’m gonna show the items you’re gonna want to get the most as void fiend
(Avoid healing items!).
-=Grey Item(s)=-
* Gasoline
* Lens-Makers Glasses
* Soldiers Syringe
* Backup Magazine
* Topaz Brooch
* Tougher Times
* Paul’s Goat Hoof
* Mocha
-=Green Item(s)=-
* Rose Buckler
* Old Guillotine
* Ukelele
* Hopoo Feather
* Will-o’-the-wisp
-=Red Item(s)=-
* Hardlight Afterburner
-=Blue Item(s)=-
* Transcendence
This build centers around having shield and high crit chance, getting crits
with void fiend builds up your energy bar. Healing lowers your energy bar so
that’s why you’re gonna want to avoid healing items.
You’re best option is to buy Transcendence at the Bazaar as soon as possible.
Transcendence replaces all but 1 health and turns it into shield and gives
you 25% more shield, you can buy as many of these as you want because it
increases how much shield you have the more Transcendence’ you have. Having
10 Glasses makes every hit you deal a critical one so every single hit will
increase your energy bar.
Void Fiend doesnt have the best mobility so Mocha, Paul’s Goat Hooves, and
Hopoo feathers are gonna be your best friends in any Void Fiend Run.
Hardlight Afterburners are the only Red items you’ll need because each one
gives you 2 extra charges of your utility skill which is insanely strong as
Void Fiends utility skills give him
I-frames. The last thing I’ll talk about is Gasoline and Wisps, Void Fiend
doesnt have the best AOE attacks so Gasoline and Wisps are insanely strong
especially if you stack Gasoline.
How to Literally Destroy the Final Boss:
----------------------------------------
Written by Wilson Gaming
How to win at game and defeat final bhoss like third wife after bottle of booze.
-=The Start=-
The start is a troublesome and hard task, that being said, pressing the start
button is very hard, you might want to brace yourself for the instant failure
of your heart.
-=The Actual Start=-
Actually getting into the game is another gruesome task, you have to choose
the difficulty and your favorite character in which case you’ll only have two
because your a noob and are using this guide to get better. So once you managed
to choose a character and difficulty, click play and hell will surely be upon
you.
-=The End=-
Now that you got into the game and are probably playing alone you sad loner,
now you can endure absolute hell as your body will be torn to shreds over and
over and over again by the most bs things that this game has to offer.
Congrats!
How to Find Teleporter:
-----------------------
* The teleporter is roughly on the opposite end of the level. Some exceptions
but you’ll never spawn next to one.
* There are orange/red particles in the sky around the teleporter. If you can
see them, you should be able to narrow it down.
* The teleporter plays high-pitched music. It often goes unnoticed because
you’re focusing on the enemies’ noises or the music drowns it out, but if
you can pick up on it and have stereo audio you should be able to track it
down.
Huntress: How to Play:
----------------------
Crits. Her alternate primary fire (where she fires three arrows) has a broken
interaction with crits that the devs either missed, or (more likely) just
decided to leave in.
Usually a crit should double the damage of an attack, but with her alternate
fire she instead fires six arrows. The thing is, all six of those arrows still
deal double damage. So she’s essentially getting quadruple damage.
Ideally you want nine lens makers glasses, plus a harvesters scythe and predatory
instincts. this will give you 100% crit chance plus a ton of healing and attack
speed. You might need the artifact of command, but honestly, IMO it’s a trap.
Standing still usually means death. It’s preferable to just use printers.
Other than that you’re really just looking for mobility. Goats hoofs, hopoo
feathers, etc.
The most important thing is to always stay moving and don’t linger too long.
The biggest enemy in this game is time, by a wide margin. When I was doing
Huntress eclipse runs, basically the rule is you have hit the first teleporter
at 2 minutes. You need to be at the third stage before 10, otherwise the run
is already lost. She’s too squishy and enemy health and damage ramp up too
quickly for her to keep pace.
Stacking backup magazines on her can be incredibly strong early, but it falls
off a bit later in the run and the cast animation can be a pain when things
start getting hectic.
Her strafe attack does better damage than flurry until (I think) around 20%
crit chance, so it’s more reliable if you’re not getting lucky with drops.
I highly recommend unlocking her phase blink if you haven’t already. It makes
her feel much more fluid and easier to play. You just need to carry 12 crowbars
at once which is easy enough on drizzle difficulty or if you have the artifact
of command.
Flurry can also be easily unlocked using the artifact of kin and the artifact
of swarms if you just keep restarting till you get wisps.
Survivors Tips:
---------------
As a general rule, all survivors are good because all survivors have access
to items, and items are far more important than skills. You can win with all
of them. Ive even won with Void Infestor, where your only attack kills you
(but youll need the MonsterMash mod to play as one).
Deciding which characters are objectively better than others is almost impossible,
but some that I would say stand out:
* Bandit (highest no-item single target damage in the game {based on my testing},
ability to turn invisible too)
* Captain (hacking beacons break early game scaling if you hack chance shrines or
2 chests close to each other, diablo strike skips early bosses, captain genuinely
feels gamebreaking to me)
* MUL-T (power mode nailguns is a proccing machine, ridiculous damage numbers if
you focus proc-based items)
The “weaker” characters:
* Artificer (No consistent damage because of cooldowns, doesnt actually do enough
damage to warrant the cooldowns)
* Acrid (I think both poison and blight are good actually, but why wait to let
things die when killing them now keeps you safer? Only ranged attacks are on
cooldowns too)
* Mercenary (not actually weaker at all, but requires way more effort and focus
for the same output as other characters just holding M1)
* Artificer is the only character I think is genuinely bad.
You might need to consider which items to focus on if youre finding issues with
a particular character. Think about the standard moveset and whether youre lacking
single-target damage, crowd control, or mobility, and try to focus those areas
with printers and multi-shops.
Commando has a great proc rate, so you will have found success with items like
Tri-tip daggers, but moving onto other characters you might want to focus other
items that work with different skills and stats. Artificer, for example, I think
gasoline + ignition tank + taking the two fire-based skills is the best way to
go. Tri-tip dagger is basically useless for her.
