Making Car Barricades Guide (The New and Improved Way):
-------------------------------------------------------
Written by dogsoda
Sad that your car barricade doesn't keep the zeds out of your base anymore?
Well, the solution for you here in this guide.
-=How to Make Car Barricades=-
What Happened to Car Barricades
As of the last Build 41 update/patch, zombies can now crawl under cars to get to you.
This makes car-barricading slightly less effective--extremely ineffective when there
are hundreds of zombies after your meaty bod all at once.
How to make the new, improved, and 100% effective version of the old car barricade?
It's actually pretty simple.
You'll need lots of wood, and some decent carpentry skill. At least enough to make basic
walls. It doesn't matter what you make the walls out of, it can be wood or metal.
It doesn't even matter what level the wall is. If you'd like, you can even make the walls
have windows, which will allow you to see through to the other side of your barricade.
(You could substitute the walls for fences, if you're feeling extra-spicy.)
Start off by laying a foundation of perimeter walls, and fill them with the material
of your choice.
Next, you'll want to find yourself a car. Any type of car will do.
After that, just drive the car up to the side of the wall. Make sure it's completely
parallel to the side of the wall, so that the entire left or right side of the car is
smooching the face of your newly erected wall.
It should be so close that you're only able to get in and out of one side of your car.
Note: I'm using McCoy's Logging Co. just because of how little materials you actually
need to gather to close off the entrances.
Enjoy your new car wall!
That's pretty much it!
Make as much noise as you want, there's nothing those smelly zombies can do about it!
They'll just loiter around the area's entrance, trying to figure out what they're
supposed to do to get to you.
I'd probably wait a little while before trying to go out that way, though.

Basic Mechanics to Help You Survive:
------------------------------------
Written by DieSoft
So, you want to survive from the zeds eh? Well then, this guide is for you!
-=The Basics=-
Let me start off with saying, there is no way to win. It comes pretty hard to a
lot of people, but its true. The goal of the game, is to survive as long as possible.
-=Picking Traits=-
Whatever traits you want is up to you. It depends on your play style. Do you like combat?
Pick the veteran role. Like building? Play the carpenter role. Whatever traits and
professions you fancy, go with.
-=Spawning In=-
When you spawn in, there will be 0 zombies in the building, so no need to worry. However,
keep in mind zombies can enter whenever they see you, so be careful. When looting, go to
the tv (if possible) and tune into the channel “Life and Living” for some free xp while
you loot. Be sure not to take canned food, as it lasts forever and its pretty heavy. Also,
avoid fighting large numbers of zombies, as you probably don’t have a decent weapon yet.
-=Finding a Car (Optional, But Recommended)=-
The next step is to find a faster way of transportation other than your 2 clumsy legs.
Search for cars that look in good condition, once you find one get in the driver seat, if
you are using the Criminal profession then hot-wire it, if not search the glove compartment
for the key. If no key is found, then repeat this process.
-=Finding a Base=-
Once and if you find a car, head to the outskirts of you chosen town, find a suitable house
or other building, and clear the zeds that are in/around it. If you have planks, nails,
and a hammer, you can board up the windows. Furnish you base to your hearts content, and
you have your very own base.
-=Extra Tips=-
* You can loot police stations to get firearms and ammunition.
* Fire Stations Have Axes and other useful tools.
* You can siphon gas from other cars.
* Using wood and ripped sheets, you can create a campfire kit.
* Using a stick, and a knife you can create a spear, a strong weapon.
Tips for Newbies:
-----------------
General Tips
* Do not take stupid chances and prepare for the future of thousands of zombies and
winter you need security shelter heat and water along with food and skills.
* Restless Sleeper prevents you from fully removing Tiredness from your character.
You’ll have ~25% left when you wake up. This means you’ll get tired faster. I’ve seen
people think that and Wakeful means you get a free +4 Points but in reality you’ll
just be waking up faster still with leftover tiredness.
* If you fill roughly 3 wood crates with non-perishable foods you should be able to
survive a season inside your base. 12 crates full for a year. I don’t really suggest
staying inside for an entire season, but it’s good to have the backup food and a
measurement of food against time. This doesn’t take into account the new calorie
changes, though.
* You can make multiple characters in the same save file, and you don’t have to wait
for your current one die first to be able to switch characters.
* Make multiple specialists to do different tasks to make your life easier. And
maybe to sort of roleplay a group of survivors trying to work together to survive.
* Debuffs hit hard! Take them very serious.
-=Spears are excellent emergency weapons=-
* Even if you’re bone tired and exhausted, you can use a spear to murder single
zombies with the critical stab attack.
* That can mean the difference between quietly clearing that zombie near your
safehouse door, or spending an hour stomping on its head while making lots of
noise for other zombies to follow.
-=Strength is easier to level up than Fitness=-
If you want to take a trait that takes a chunk out of your Passive Skills prioritize
Strength Loss. Also when you decide to lose Passive Skill keep a minimum of 3 so you
keep the 125% XP boost.
-=Crouching in PZ is not like crouching in Skyrim=-
Crouching in the middle of a Field doesn’t make you invisible. It just reduces the
sound radius of your steps. If you truely want to hide from zombies remember if you
can see them they can see you if they’re within Agro Range.
Food Items for Nomad Run:
-------------------------
Written by Shady Allie
-=Canned Food=-
It does not spoil unless opened though it can be hard to find, I mostly do my food
hunting in houses and if i’m feeling brave enough shops gas stations have alot of non
perishables and candy.
I only clear out areas if I intended to be staying there for an extended period of time
or i’m trying to level a particular stat for sure clear out the area you eventually
make home last thing you want is to get stressed or queasy from them or attacked when
you are unprepared.
-=Dried Goods=-
You can make Soups and Stews with beans. Bring along some fishing gear and whenever you
find yourself near water you have some good meals.
Rice and Pasta make for some good calorie dense fillers for meals.
Also they just help in meal variety.
-=General Tips=-
Being a nomad, you won’t clear out an area of all its food normally, take what you need
and encumber lightly. Space is limited with nomad. But you are an RV nomad king, so you
will have much much more storage space and can take more food than a foot wanderer or
even a car dweller.
You can stay or move on at any time, its your game so play it how you want. You can put
stipulations on your game play if you want. “must move every third night after the moon
is half way round.” or “every time I see a long glove zombie girl, I must move camp” or
“can’t ever sleep in a town or i must random draw a town to move to.” That’s all up to
you. Move when you want. Move when your role play in your head says time to skedaddle.
Suggestion of dried beans, pasta and rice for soups and stews paired with fish and maybe
some trapping (if stick around an area long enough) is good info. throw in some lard or
butter for fatty fat fat. oils and pastes are spices and add on calorie count.
The RV space you gain is like a mini mobile base for your nomad king and those heavy
dried beans will be a valuable item to carry. They are packed with calories, but too
heavy for a foot soldier with just a pack.
Tips and Tricks:
----------------
Written by Kanarek
-=Introduction=-
Welcome to my guide! Only the first trick is beginner-friendly, so be careful if you
want to actually pull these tricks off yourself.
-=The bed trick=-
Sit in front of a bed, right-click on it and select “Rest.” This will recover your
stamina faster than if you would select this option just standing in front of the bed
(which already boosts stamina regen). It’s weird but works, enjoy your double stamina
regen bonus. Works great for maximising exercise regime effectiveness (work out till
exhaustion, rest, repeat; you know the drill).
-=Combat drinker=-
Use alcohol wisely. It has three combat-relevant uses: beta blocker, painkiller, and
sleeping tablet. Alcohol can be used as a beta blocker if you don’t have the pills.
Just drink 1/4 of, for instance: red wine, before or even mid combat to reduce panic.
Beware, your character will quickly become drowsy (sleepy), so use this strategy
with caution. You may want to have vitamins, coffee, tea bags or energy drinks (mod
content) just in case to combat drowsiness. If you carry coffee or tea bags for this
purpose, you may wish to have some drinks to quench that thirst.
-=Flaming Circle of Death=-
You need a molotov for this one. Draw a horde’s attention and lead it to a convenient/
good spot. Throw the molotov (for instance, in front of the horde) and, this step is
possibly optional, kill a few burning zombies to help spread the fire (it is safe as
long as you keep your distance and back off before the killed zombie stops playing
its animation of falling to ground because after the animation stops, the fire tends
to appear on a nearby tile or where the zombie has just fallen). Run or walk away to
lose the horde’s attention. Once they stop following you, they will “investigate” the
ongoing inferno and should start forming a circle around the dying zombies and fires.
If you play with Pinpoint hearing and Eagle sight and Long memory, the Flaming Circle
of Death may attract the attention of nearby zombies as well. If you are critically
successful, a single molotov (with your help) can take out more than 1700 individuals
(this is what you can get if you play with both base and max population multipliers
set to 4.0 and most sensitive senses, have fun).
-=Sacrificial car decoy=-
You need a vehicle for this one. Drive somewhere and honk the horn in the neighbourhood
pretty hard (a few times at least). Exit the vehicle in a good spot (easily visible
from afar with free space around it) and leave the engine running. Run or walk away
to avoid drawing attention to yourself. Soon zombies will come to investigate the area
and they will become “glued” to the noise the engine makes. After some time you can go
back to the vehicle and kill the zombies you lured (you can use the Flaming Circle of
Death strategy if there is a significant number of them and you have optimal conditions
for it, you don’t have to burn your ride down though). Note: be sure to leave your
vehicle on Neutral (“N” gear), else it will consume unnecessarily MUCH more fuel than
it otherwise would (you can use the handbrake to stop the vehicle and don’t leave too
early after stopping it).
-=Sledgehammer alternative=-
For this risky and dangerous trick you’ll need molotovs and a fire extinguisher. How
to access a gun store without the mighty sledgehammer? Just throw a molotov in a spot
which is placed the farthest from any loot container in the store (to reduce the risk
of flames consuming your precious and coveted loot) and wait till one of the tiles:
either a wall or metal bars, gets partially damaged/burned down by the flames (yes,
for some reason these metal bars CAN get damaged in a fire). As soon as you see damage
in the walls (or bars) standing between you and the loot, extinguish all the flames.
You can “jump over/through” these partially damaged tiles just as if it was some
regular low fence or an open window (hold “E” in front of the tile if you use default
controls). Here’s an instruction on how to use the fire extinguisher: Equip the item
as Primary. Right-click on a flame and select the option to put out fire. An UI will
appear (your cursor will change) and you’ll see two circles. The smaller one is the
position of your character and the larger one is the area of effect of your
extinguisher. Left-click to use your item (a single use/click will consume some of
its “charge,” don’t waste your charges as the item can only be used several times
before it becomes depleted but it should be enough to put out small fires).
