Grid Legends Cheats

Grid Legends

Hints and Tips:
---------------
Submitted by: David K.

-= Start With the Right Expectations =-
GRID Legends is an arcade-leaning circuit racer built around Driven to Glory,
an extensive Career, Race Creator, and online racing. Its main long-term systems
progress separately: Career events, mileage-based performance upgrades for each
owned car, driver/team development, and sponsor objectives. Treat them as separate
progression paths rather than expecting one to advance the others automatically.

-= Use Flashback and Assists as Tools, Not Commitments =-
Flashback can be enabled independently of the main difficulty preset. ABS, Traction
Control, and Stability Control each use a 0-5 scale, and the racing line can be On,
Off, or Corners Only. If a car is difficult to learn, lower AI difficulty or increase
assists first; you can then remove assists one at a time without restarting Career
progress.

-= Career Race Length Changes the Grind =-
Career Race Length can be set from x1 through x5. Longer events naturally add more
distance to cars you already own, so increasing race length can reduce separate
mileage grinding. If you only want to clear a difficult Career requirement quickly,
x1 keeps the event short.

-= Own the Car Before Grinding Upgrade Mileage =-
Only mileage driven in a car you own advances that car's performance-upgrade access.
A loan car lets you enter compatible events without buying or unlocking the car
first, but its distance does not bank for later upgrade progress and its race
winnings are cut by 50%. Before starting a long mileage session, check Garage and
verify that you own the car.

-= Protect Sponsor Progress Before Switching =-
Only one sponsor is active at a time, and each sponsor has three objectives. If you
switch sponsors while an objective is incomplete, progress on that unfinished
objective resets when you return. Finish any partially completed objectives you care
about before changing sponsors.

-= Nemesis Is No Longer Permanent =-
In the current version, AI Nemesis status can decay between races. If you stop
antagonizing a Nemesis late in a race, there is a 60% chance the driver will not
remain a Nemesis in the next race. Dynamic Events do not use Nemesis states, so one
accidental rivalry does not have to become a permanent Career problem.

-= Bind Important PC Inputs Explicitly =-
Open Controls, select your device, and use Edit Device. Boost, Flashback, Teammate
Attack Request, Teammate Defend Request, teammate/rival status requests, headlights,
camera, gears, and other inputs are separately bindable. Do not rely on a key shown
in an old guide if you have changed bindings.

-= Controller Steering: Sensitivity and Linearity =-
Advanced Input exposes Steering Sensitivity from 0-100 and Steering Linearity from
0-10. Defaults are 50 sensitivity and 4 linearity. Higher sensitivity reacts faster
but is less stable. Zero linearity makes steering directly proportional to input;
increasing linearity softens small steering inputs. Change one setting at a time and
test the same corner before making another adjustment.

Career and Progression:
-----------------------
-= Career Tier Unlocks =-
Career is divided into Rookie, Semi-Pro, Pro, and The Gauntlet. Tier unlocks are
based on completed events, not on winning every earlier race.
* Semi-Pro: complete 16 Rookie events.
* Pro: complete 30 Semi-Pro events.
* The Gauntlet: complete nine full Pro categories. The separate GRID
  Challenges/Sponsor area does not replace those nine main vehicle categories.
* The Gauntlet then contains nine events, one for each main vehicle category. Each
  must be won to advance to the next.

-= Career Event Points =-
When a Career event uses championship points, the standard points scale is:
* 1st 25, 2nd 18, 3rd 15, 4th 12, 5th 10, 6th 8, 7th 6, 8th 4, 9th 2, 10th 1, and
  11th-22nd 0.
For multi-race events, do not judge the objective from one heat alone. Focus on the
points position required for the event's final classification.

-= Driven to Glory and Career =-
Driven to Glory is the story entry point and teaches several race types and cars.
Finishing the story leads into the broader Career rather than replacing it. If you
want the intended progression order, play the story before committing to a long
Career grind. If you mainly want racing systems and unlocks, Career and Race Creator
provide the long-term structure.

-= Difficulty Does Not Gate Career Progress =-
AI difficulty and assists are independent of the Career tier structure. If a finale
is blocking progress, lower AI difficulty or use stronger assists. Make difficulty
changes from the main menu before launching the event when possible. PC players have
reported a long-standing bug where changing difficulty after an event has loaded and
then restarting can reset Career counters or sponsor objectives. Back up the local
save before changing difficulty during a long Career or sponsor run. The game itself
does not require a high difficulty to unlock the next Career tier.

Vehicle Upgrades and Team Development:
--------------------------------------
-= Performance Upgrade Mileage Thresholds =-
Performance-upgrade access is tracked per owned car. Standard distance thresholds
are:
* Tier 1: 16 km.
* Tier 2: 56 km.
* Tier 3: 80 km.
The Mechanic Pass reduces the distance requirements by 30%. After the game's
rounding, the Tier 2 and Tier 3 thresholds become 39 km and 56 km. Merely unlocking
the required tier is enough for Career gates that ask for upgrade access; you do not
always have to buy every upgrade immediately.

-= Fast Mileage Grind in Race Creator =-
Race Creator is the cleanest way to add distance to one owned car without replaying
Career chains. Indianapolis Oval is a simple high-speed choice because it minimizes
braking and keeps distance accumulation predictable.
1. Open Race Creator and choose a discipline/class that allows the owned car you want
   to develop.
2. Select Indianapolis and the Oval Circuit, then choose enough laps to reach the
   next mileage threshold.
3. Use a small field and simple weather if you only care about distance.
4. Select the owned car, not a loan version, and run the laps.
5. Return to Garage and confirm the new performance-upgrade tier before entering the
   Career event that requires it.

-= Raise Driver Level With Racecraft =-
Racecraft is the XP that raises Driver Level and unlocks later team-development
tiers. You earn it during races from actions such as clean racing, overtaking,
drafting, slingshots, drifts, jumps, and following the racing line. Chain scoring
actions to build a combo instead of relying on one isolated maneuver. The Mechanic's
Racecraft Multiplier increases Racecraft earnings, so it is useful when Driver Level
15 or 35 is your next team-development gate.

-= Teammate Development Makes Team Commands Useful =-
Teammate Attack and Defend requests are separate bindable race commands. Teammate
Development improves your AI partner on track. Nemesis Protection is especially
useful because it helps the teammate block aggressive Nemesis drivers; other upgrades
can improve performance in conditions such as wet weather. Teammate Development uses
the same Driver Level gates and upgrade costs as Mechanic Development: Levels 5, 15,
and 35 at 7,500 G, 11,250 G, and 15,000 G per upgrade.

-= Mechanic Upgrade Levels and Costs =-
Team > Mechanic Upgrades opens in stages with Driver Level. Each tier costs the same
amount across the applicable mechanic skills:
* Level 1 skills: Driver Level 5; 7,500 G per upgrade.
* Level 2 skills: Driver Level 15; 11,250 G per upgrade.
* Level 3 skills: Driver Level 35; 15,000 G per upgrade.

-= Mechanic Upgrade Priorities =-
The best early purchases depend on what is slowing you down. Vehicle Purchase
Discount and Vehicle Upgrade Discount reduce long-term spending. Racecraft Multiplier
accelerates Driver Level progress. Sponsorship Offers adds more sponsor choices,
Sponsorship Requirements reduces sponsor objective requirements, and Sponsorship
Payout raises sponsor income. Repair Cost Reduction matters more if you regularly
finish with heavy mechanical damage.

-= Mechanic Skill Effects =-
Most percentage-based three-step mechanic perks scale at 5%, 10%, and 15%.
Sponsorship Offers and Boost Duration use their own values.
* Recognition: Repair Cost Reduction, Vehicle Purchase Discount, and Loan Cut
  Reduction.
* Performance: Racecraft Multiplier, Vehicle Upgrade Discount, and Boost Duration.
* Old Master: Sponsorship Offers adds 1, 2, or 3 extra offers; Sponsorship
  Requirements reduces objective requirements by 5%, 10%, or 15%; Sponsorship Payout
  adds 5%, 10%, or 15%.

Sponsors:
---------
-= How Sponsor Events Unlock =-
Select a sponsor under Team. Each sponsor presents three objectives that can be
completed in any order. Complete all three and the sponsor's special event becomes
available in Career. Sponsor objectives can progress in Story, Career, Race Creator,
and Multiplayer when the event satisfies the stated condition.

-= Sponsor Switching Rule =-
Completed objectives stay completed, but partial progress on an unfinished objective
is lost when you leave that sponsor. Finish the current sponsor's active counters,
verify all three objectives are complete, then switch.

-= When a Sponsor Event Seems Missing =-
First check Team > Sponsors and verify that all three objectives are complete for the
selected sponsor. Then look in Career's GRID Challenges/Sponsor area rather than
searching the normal vehicle-category chain. Some desirable cars are locked behind
sponsor events, so a missing car may simply mean that its sponsor event has not been
unlocked yet.

-= Base-Game Sponsor Cars =-
Six base-game sponsor events are especially important because they unlock cars. If
one of these cars is missing from Garage, complete the named sponsor first:
* Oxy -> Shelby Cobra 289 FIA.
* Xero -> Ferrari F40 LM.
* Concordia -> KTM X-BOW R.
* AVAX -> Renault R26.
* Echo -> Porsche 935/78 Group 5 "Moby Dick".
* Xenon Dynamics -> Mazda Furai.

-= Sponsor Counters Can Still Reset =-
The final major patch fixed several sponsor/objective progression bugs, but some PC
players still report isolated counters or entire sponsor sets resetting. One reported
trigger is changing difficulty inside a loaded Career event and then restarting the
race. If a counter suddenly drops or completed sponsors appear as 0/3, stop before
grinding more, exit the game, and relaunch it. Career counters may reappear after a
restart, but sponsor counters can remain reset. Keep a local save backup before a
long sponsor grind, and do not use Reset Progress as a first troubleshooting step.

Race Types and Driving:
-----------------------
-= Elimination =-
Elimination removes the bottom two drivers every 30 seconds until only the final pair
remains. Early survival matters more than one perfect lap: stay out of last place
before each countdown, avoid terminal damage, and use Flashback before a mistake
carries you into an elimination window.

-= Electric Events and Boost Gates =-
Electric events can place Boost gates away from the ideal racing line. Driving
through a gate fills boost, so the decision is whether the detour and lost corner
speed are worth the later acceleration. Bind Boost to a comfortable input and save it
for a straight or an exit where wheelspin and steering angle are low.

-= Multi-Class Racing =-
Multi-Class events put cars with different pace together. Judge closing speed early,
especially when a faster class catches traffic in braking zones. In Enduring Spirit's
Multi-Class Endurance events, your result within your own class is what matters, so
do not throw away a class lead by trying to match a fundamentally faster category on
raw pace.

-= Drift Events =-
Drift scoring rewards sustained, linked slides more than single spectacular entries.
Protect the active chain: a spin, hard reset, or broken drift costs more than a
slightly smaller angle. Use a familiar drift car, shorten gearing if you need easier
acceleration between transitions, and make one chassis change at a time so you can
tell whether the car became easier or merely different.

-= Demolition Derby and Classic Car-Nage =-
Classic Car-Nage is built around heavy contact and Demo Derby-style racing. Surviving
matters. Avoid spending all of your vehicle health on the first target, hit opponents
when you can keep your own car pointed toward open track, and use the arena layout
rather than stopping in a traffic pile where multiple cars can hit you.

-= Tuning: Use the Five Sliders Deliberately =-
GRID Legends keeps tuning compact: gear ratio, springs, anti-roll bars, brake bias,
and dampers. Shorter gearing favors acceleration while longer gearing favors top
speed. Chassis changes are highly car- and track-dependent, so move one slider one
step, repeat the same event, and revert anything that solves one corner by making the
car unstable everywhere else.

-= Damage, Terminal Damage, and Flashback =-
Damage Level can be Full or Visual Only. Technical Damage can be enabled or disabled
separately and controls whether the car can enter Terminal Damage State. If you are
practicing routes or grinding mileage, Visual Only removes mechanical damage as a
source of wasted time. For normal Career pressure, keep Full damage and use Flashback
to undo a major mistake before the car reaches terminal damage.

Race Creator and Multiplayer:
-----------------------------
-= Race Creator Is More Than a Practice Mode =-
Use Race Creator for mileage farming, testing cars, sponsor objectives, event
practice, and custom multiplayer. You can combine event type, vehicle class,
location/route, conditions, opponents, damage rules, assists, and other options
without changing your Career structure.
For event types where those fields apply, Race Creator supports 2-22 drivers and
1-99 laps, making it useful for both short tests and long mileage sessions.

-= Multi-Round Events =-
Multi-Round lets a host chain up to four events online or offline without returning
to the main menu. The first event fixes the Car Class and shared Options for the set.
Later rounds may change location, route, and time of day. Players are paired into
teams and score points from finishing positions across the rounds, so one bad opener
does not end the set.

-= PC Online After the 2026 Console Shutdown =-
Online play on PC requires an EA account linked to the platform account. EA retired
GRID Legends online services for Xbox and PlayStation on September 11, 2026; Windows
is not listed in that shutdown notice. PC-to-console cross-play is therefore no
longer a current option even if the Cross-Play setting is still visible. For PC
sessions, Host Privacy can be Offline, Private, or Public, and Host Session Type can
be Open, Teams, or Co-Op. If another PC player cannot see your session, check
EA-account linking and privacy before changing game files or network settings.

-= Put a Friend on Your Career Team =-
For an online Career session where you want your friend on your team rather than
paired with another AI teammate, open Settings > Gameplay > Online and set Host
Session Type to Co-Op before hosting. Change it back to Open when you want a normal
public lobby.

-= DLC Sessions With Friends =-
All four premium packs allow invited friends to join the pack content in the owner's
online session: Valentin's Classic Car-Nage, Enduring Spirit, Rise of Ravenwest, and
Winter Bash. The guest does not need to buy that pack for the shared session and
does not gain permanent ownership. Each player still needs the base game, and both
players must be online for the shared session.

DLC and Extra Content:
----------------------
-= Deluxe Content at a Glance =-
The Deluxe package includes the four major post-launch expansion packs plus the Voltz
Pack and Mechanic Pass. The four expansions add more than cosmetic content: they
include story chapters, Career events, cars, locations or routes, sponsors, and in
some cases new event rules.

-= Valentin's Classic Car-Nage =-
The first premium expansion adds the Demo Derby-style Classic Car-Nage mode, eight
Story experiences, five vehicles, four tracks, and three Career events. Play it when
you want contact-heavy events and sponsor objectives built around demolition-style
cars rather than normal clean circuit racing.

-= Enduring Spirit =-
Enduring Spirit adds Fuji International Speedway and Multi-Class Endurance, plus new
Story and Career material. Endurance is a class-based long-form event: pace against
your own class, manage changing conditions, and avoid wasting a safe class position
by fighting cars whose class target is different from yours.

-= Rise of Ravenwest =-
The third premium expansion focuses on Ravenwest history and brings Miami back as a
location. It adds Story/Career content, new cars, Miami layouts, and additional
sponsor work, but it does not introduce a new persistent ruleset.

-= Winter Bash =-
Winter Bash is the fourth and final premium expansion. It adds new Story and Career
content, winter-themed events, new cars, ramps and Boost gates on existing routes,
and point-to-point Drift routes at Okutama. Expect more stunt-focused driving and
route awareness than in a conventional circuit race.

-= Seneca & Ravenwest Double Pack =-
This separate pack adds the Aston Martin Vantage GT4, Porsche 962C, Ginetta G55 GT4,
and Koenigsegg Jesko, plus special Ravenwest Career events and team cosmetics. It is
additional content, not one of the four main premium expansion packs.

-= Voltz Pack and Mechanic Pass =-
The Voltz Pack adds the Audi R8 1:1 and Volkswagen Golf GTI plus bonus event/livery
content. The Mechanic Pass does not buy vehicle upgrades for you; it reduces the
mileage required to unlock their performance-upgrade tiers, which is most valuable
when Career finals demand Tier 2 or Tier 3 access on several cars.

Solutions:
----------
-= Unlock the Gauntlet =-
1. Complete any 16 Rookie Career events to unlock Semi-Pro.
2. Complete any 30 Semi-Pro Career events to unlock Pro.
3. In Pro, complete all events in each of the nine main vehicle-category chains. GRID
   Challenges/Sponsor content is separate from this nine-category gate.
4. Open The Gauntlet. Win its first event to unlock the next, then continue through
   all nine category events.
The nine Gauntlet categories are Trucks, Touring, Drift, Specials, Tuner, GT,
Electric, Track Day, and Open Wheel.

-= Unlock and Enter a Sponsor Event =-
1. Open Team > Sponsors and select the sponsor whose event or reward you want.
2. Read all three objectives and choose modes/events that satisfy them efficiently.
   Story, Career, Race Creator, and Multiplayer can all contribute when the condition
   matches.
3. Do not switch sponsors while an objective you care about is partially complete.
4. After all three objectives are complete, open Career and check the GRID
   Challenges/Sponsor area for the newly unlocked event.
5. Complete the sponsor event to receive its event reward or unlock where applicable.

-= Unlock Tier 3 on One Car Quickly =-
1. Confirm in Garage that you own the target car.
2. Check its current mileage and calculate the remaining distance to Tier 3: 80 km
   normally or 56 km with the Mechanic Pass.
3. Create an Indianapolis Oval event in Race Creator for the target car's class.
4. Run enough oval laps to pass the threshold. Avoid switching to a loan car.
5. Return to Garage and verify Tier 3 access before spending credits on the upgrades
   you actually need.

-= Restore Missing MOZA Force Feedback =-
This is a reported workaround, not guaranteed hardware support. MOZA's current
compatibility list still places GRID Legends under Compatibility Coming Soon rather
than fully supported.
1. Power on the MOZA base and start GRID Legends.
2. If steering works but force feedback is absent, leave the game running and power
   the base off.
3. Wait for the game's input-device-changed notification.
4. Power the base on again and wait for the device notification a second time.
5. Test force feedback before starting a long event. The original report used an R21
   base; other MOZA hardware may behave differently.

Technical Issues:
-----------------
-= "Error Loading Profile" When the Save Folder Is Missing =-
If the game stops at startup with an "Error Loading Profile" message, first check:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\GRID Legends\savegame\profile\
If the GRID Legends folder exists but the savegame and profile folders are missing,
exit the game, create those two folders in that path, and relaunch. Players have
reported that this restores startup when the installation never created the save
folders. If the folders and save files already exist, this specific fix does not
apply; do not delete existing local or cloud saves as a first troubleshooting step.

-= Back Up the Windows Save Before Risky Changes =-
The local Windows save folder is:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\GRID Legends\savegame\profile\
Exit the game before copying this folder. Keep the backup outside the live save
directory. This is especially useful before resetting progress, testing cloud-sync
behavior, or making Career changes you may later want to roll back.

-= Reset Progress and Create New Save Are Destructive =-
In Save Management, Reset Progress cannot be reversed. Create New Save Game
overwrites the current save and resets Career progress along with any changed
options/settings. Back up the local save folder first if there is any chance you will
want the current state again.

-= Disable Individual Post-Processing Effects =-
The game exposes a general Post Processing setting, but individual effects can also
be changed in the PC hardware settings file. Back up the file before editing:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\GRID Legends\hardwaresettings\
hardware_settings_config.xml
Open the XML file in a text editor and change only the effects you want to disable:
* motionBlur="false"
* depthOfField="false"
* lensFlare="false"
* bloom="false"
Save the file. If the game keeps restoring those values, setting the file to
Read-only can preserve the edit. Remove Read-only before trying to change graphics
settings in-game, because the game then cannot write other settings back to the same
file.

-= Use the Built-In Video Tools Before Editing Files =-
GRID Legends already exposes extensive PC video settings. Start there, then use the
built-in benchmark to compare changes under repeatable conditions. File edits are
most useful for effects such as motion blur or depth of field that are not exposed as
separate in-game toggles.

-= USB Audio and Ultrawide Flashback Issues =-
The final major patch specifically addressed USB-audio stuttering and an ultrawide
issue where Flashback could leave black bars on screen. If you see an old guide
recommending elaborate workarounds for those exact problems, confirm that the game is
fully updated before applying them.
