* Shift to dash, Space to jump. Simple enough.
* What you may have noticed is that these two can combine to
double jump, by either jumping then dashing, or dashing then jumping.
* The former gives you a bit more height, whereas the latter gives
you more horizontal distance.
* The most notable chain is to dash (shift), jump (space), and right
as you land, dash (shift) again, then jump (space), and repeat.
This is Far Far West's bunnyhopping.
With more movement bonuses through jokers and hero upgrades, this will
improve your movement a ton, and consequently, your survivability.
Bosses such as the Necromancer can be trivialized with good movement,
i.e., bunnyhopping sideways the entire time. If you've ever played
Risk of Rain 2, the same survivability concepts apply.
-> Keep moving and you'll dodge 95% of damage.
-=Other tricks=-
Dismounting your horse puts you in the air, which you can then jump and
dash out of, effectively giving you a triple jump. This is particularly
useful for trying to get up mountains/ledges that you normally shouldn't
be able to get up, (at least without a jump joker).
Use Your Spells:
----------------
It is very easy to fall into the habit of relying entirely on your gun,
especially if you are comfortable with shooter mechanics. Your spells,
activated with Q or E, are designed to help. They can quickly clear
groups of enemies or get you out of dangerous situations.
Save the boss for last:
-----------------------
You can attempt every run in any order, but defeating the boss right off
the bat will spawn an endless hoard of enemies, which can easily overwhelm
you and force you to extract.
The best way to approach each run is the following:
* Clear side objectives around the map first.
* Complete the main objectives and then fight the boss.
* Extract to the hub before getting killed.
This way you can explore the map more freely without being under constant
pressure from waves of enemies. You can stick around after slaying the
boss to stack up on kills and XP, but it is recommended to escape before
you get overwhelmed.
Elder Pickaxe Long-Term Value:
------------------------------
The Elder Pickaxe earned from this secret has direct synergy with vein
farming on all future runs. Paired with a Gold Tooth Joker setup and a
Hard+ route, the Canyon run is the most time-efficient gold source for
advanced players.
