Directive 8020 Cheats

Directive 8020

Hints and Tips:
---------------
Submitted by: David K.

-= Explorer vs Survivor modes =-
Explorer Mode unlocks the Story Tree and Turning Points rewind on first launch. Use it
for first playthroughs if you want to fix deaths or test endings without full replays.
Survivor Mode disables free rewind until you finish once; deaths stick until a new
run. Beat Survivor once to unlock Explorer tools on that save profile. Supermassive
intended Explorer for completionists and Survivor for permadeath tension.

-= Survival presentation tips =-
Turn on subtitles and set brightness so dark corridors stay readable without washing
out the image. Use headphones when possible; dialogue, sound cues, and atmosphere
carry most of the mimic horror. Explore before leaving safe areas, especially
terminals, crew rooms, labs, and medical spaces. Do not mash through dialogue; small
contradictions can become survival clues. Check the Story Tree after each chapter even
if you do not plan to rewind yet. If a character dies, write down the last three major
choices before using Turning Points so you know which variable to change.

-= Mimic threat reading =-
The mimic is not just a monster reveal. It changes how you read every scene. A
character who asks for help may be genuine, but a character who appears after
isolation and avoids details should be treated as a risk until verified. Ask whether
anyone witnessed where the character came from. Look for memory gaps or unnatural
urgency. Prefer group-safe choices over one-on-one isolation. Use evidence before
accusation when the game gives you time.

-= Bioscanner and quarantine =-
Scan separated crew before letting them into safe rooms. Skipping Bioscan checks after
someone was alone risks a mimic infiltrating the group and triggering late slaughter
routes. Pair scans with witness questions from the mimic tips above. Quarantine beats
panic accusations when you still have time to verify.

-= Story Tree and Turning Points =-
The Story Tree flowchart maps every pivotal moment and locked branch. Turning Points
let you rewind to those nodes in Explorer Mode, change one variable, and replay
forward from there. Change survivor count, final message choice, mimic resolution, and
Eisele Destiny separately so you can see what caused each ending. After altering a
Turning Point you must play forward to lock the new branch; you cannot skip ahead.

-= Turning points route for all endings =-
The best way to unlock every ending is to build one clean base route first, then
branch from late Turning Points. Do not change every variable at once. Build the Best
Ending route first: save the crew, unlock Young's heroic route, push Eisele toward
Humanitarian, and survive the finale. Branch Eisele's Destiny to compare Humanitarian
with Scientist. Branch the final message to test distress or SOS routes against
warning routes for Beacon-style differences. Branch mimic status: leave the threat
unresolved for Hitchhiker or Docked Not Alone, then clean it up for safer routes.
Branch survivor count to reach Homeward Bound or Massacre while still escaping. Branch
duplicate confrontation with evidence and accusation choices for Homeward Bound Masks
Off. Run failure routes last for Game Over and Everyone Dies cleanup.

-= Dialogue and relationship stability =-
Treat every isolated character as unverified until the story gives evidence. Keep
relationships stable unless you have a concrete reason to accuse someone. Rash trust
or sudden hostility can lock worse branches without giving you mimic evidence.
Compassionate crew-first lines feed Eisele's Sympathetic trait; cold science-first
lines feed Rational Scientist epilogues.

-= Eisele Sympathetic Humanitarian path =-
Increase Eisele's Sympathetic trait with empathy toward crew stress, medical ethics,
and humanity-first answers. The post-credits epilogue splits Scientist vs Humanitarian
based on whether Eisele stops the clone program or lets it continue. Humanitarian is
the community best ending when combined with full crew survival.

-= Young Loyal Hero Humanity First =-
Push Young's Loyal trait through supportive crew dialogue in Episode 8. At the Wish
prompt choose Humanity First to align her Hero Destiny with the cleanest finale.
Young's heroic route pairs with Everyone Lives escape outcomes.

-= Stealth parry and QTE tuning =-
Real-time stealth sections use improvised weapons, distraction tools, and a stun-baton
parry timing window. Failing parry or stealth during mimic hunts can kill characters
instantly. Accessibility menus can soften QTE and parry difficulty without removing
choices.

-= Couch co-op Movie Night =-
Up to five local players can assign crew roles in Movie Night couch co-op. Shared
votes on dialogue still branch the same Story Tree; coordinate Bioscan and group-safe
choices so one player does not isolate a suspect off-screen.

Secrets:
--------
-= Post-credits epilogue twist =-
The playable escape is not the final word. After credits Eisele addresses a panel
about Cycle 13 and the cloning program. Scientist epilogue continues the program;
Humanitarian epilogue shuts it down. Stick through credits on first clear to see which
Destiny you earned.

-= O Death collectible secrets =-
Explorer Mode after completion helps hunt O Death secrets and Dark Pictures heirloom
collectibles tied to prior anthology titles. GameSpew and Steam community lists map
episode-specific secret rooms unlocked by Utility Strap or Wedge Tool routes.

Solutions:
----------
-= Compact route - Best ending everyone lives Humanitarian =-
1. Start on Explorer Mode with Turning Points enabled.
2. Episode 1: pass disaster QTEs and Chased stealth; keep crew together when possible.
3. Episode 2: disable Landing Computer when offered (safer Mitchell path); dismiss
Mitchell at Little Faith if prompted; find Carter's Utility Strap as Cooper; unlock
Carter PC with Luna birthday code 0828 only when the objective appears.
4. Episode 3: force Stafford to sit during crash if Landing Computer stayed off; use
Food Storage code 0402 during Search if you need supplies.
5. Episode 4: refuse the firearm as Eisele when asked; build Sympathetic dialogue.
6. Episode 5: enter diazepam code 168 if Cooper agrees to Anders' sedative request;
volunteer Eisele as backup; save Anders during Under Pressure when Fire Control
   routes demand it.
7. Episode 6: do not shoot Williams; shoot the duplicate Eisele during the identity
test; choose Save Our Souls at the message branch when chasing Beacon variants.
8. Episode 7: take the right fork to recover the real Anders; pass stealth QTEs; enter
probe serial 2540 after chip replacement.
9. Episode 8: pass finale QTEs; keep Young Loyal high; choose Humanity First at Wish.
10. Finish credits and confirm Humanitarian post-credits epilogue.

-= Compact route - Turning points all endings =-
1. Complete the Best Ending route above as your clean base save.
2. Rewind a late Turning Point and let two crew die but still escape for Homeward
   Bound Massacre branches.
3. Rewind mimic confrontation choices without full resolution for Hitchhiker or Docked
   Not Alone outcomes.
4. Rewind final message choice to compare SOS distress vs warning signal for Beacon.
5. Rewind Eisele trait choices mid-game to unlock Scientist post-credits instead of
   Humanitarian.
6. Rewind duplicate evidence paths for Homeward Bound Masks Off.
7. Save Game Over and Everyone Dies branches for last using deliberate QTE failures.

-= Locker room key code 13576 =-
1. As Eisele in Episode 2 leave the Locker Room and climb to the Atrium upper level.
2. Use the Utility Strap on the shutter across from the stairs, then on the window
   door.
3. Enter the security room and read the camera feed showing locker code 13576.
4. Input 13576 at the Locker Room keypad or check the pause menu hint if you missed
   the feed.

-= Carter PC key code 0828 =-
1. In Episode 2 find the Luna sticky note on Carter's monitor with a party hat doodle.
2. Enter Crew Quarters and inspect the wall calendar in the lounge corner.
3. Read Luna's birthday marked on 28 August.
4. Enter 0828 at Carter's PC (2808 also works if your build accepts day-first input).
5. Interact once; the Simms cutscene locks the terminal after the first successful
   login.

-= Food storage key code 0402 =-
1. During Episode 3 Search enter the Mess Hall and open the side room with the Wedge
   Tool.
2. Collect supplies inside, then turn back toward the exit door.
3. Read the Food Storage note on the door frame showing 0402.
4. Enter 0402 at the kitchen Food Storage keypad.

-= Diazepam synthesis code 168 =-
1. In Episode 5 as Cooper agree to help Anders with sedatives if your playful rapport
   unlocked the request.
2. Read the Diazepam display listing three required chemical structures.
3. Match structures to numbered slots using posters in the medical room.
4. Select Chloroacetyl chloride (1), ammonia (6), and dimethyl sulfate (8).
5. Enter 168 on the synthesis keypad and deliver the compound to Anders.

-= Anomaly Log Number CAIF 3196 =-
1. In Episode 5 as Cernan reach the locked Orbital Scanner Data terminal in Radio
   Silence or Bridge Ops.
2. Climb the marked stairs to the cockpit corridor.
3. Read the sticky note on the left console chair reading CAIF.
4. Convert letters to alphabet positions: C=3, A=1, I=9, F=6.
5. Enter 3196 at the Orbital Scanner terminal to unlock the data.

-= Probe serial number 2540 =-
1. In Episode 7 replace the overloaded probe chip with the spare from behind the
   probe.
2. Read the terminal screen beside the input panel showing ending digits 40.
3. Circle to the probe rear near the chip slot and read the screen showing leading
   digit 2.
4. Check the damaged screen hidden by rocks to the right for the middle digit 5.
5. Enter 2540 to authorize the distress or warning transmission.
