Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core Cheats

Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core

Hints and Tips:
---------------
Submitted by: David K.

-= Abilities are always reliable =-
While your weapons are what you use most of the time when fighting enemies, do not
forget about your abilities. It is easy to only think about which weapon to use when
two dozen enemies are coming at you, but your class's abilities are often a better way
to deal damage or escape a sticky situation. Each ability has a cooldown after you use
it, so be smart about when to pop them; once you understand your class and get some
play time in, you will develop a sixth sense for the best situation for each one.

-= Know when to fall back =-
On events that ask you to stand in an area, be hyper-aware of when you need to run
away. Dying to a side objective is not worth it, and you can avoid it by retreating
while clearing away all the chaff to make space. Once the horde has been thinned out,
go back to the objective and repeat the process until it is complete.

-= Meet the five Reclaimers =-
The Guardian is the safest pick and the best for new solo players, creating space
while you handle pressure. The Slicer is the aggressive melee-chain class with the
highest offensive ceiling. The Falconer leans on drone-style remote pressure and a
remote revive that matters far more in co-op than solo. The Spotter plays around
marking targets and focus fire for a crit payoff. The Retcon is a time-manipulation
class with the highest skill floor and ceiling, so it is not where you should start.

-= Master the Retcon's Rewind-Rage loop =-
Time Rewind marks your state (position, health, ammo and armor) and snaps you back to
it after about 20 seconds or when you reactivate it, on roughly a 75-second cooldown,
which refunds everything you spent in between. Rage builds as you take damage and
doubles all of your output, including weapons, grenades and equipment. The signature
loop is to Rewind, deliberately take hits to build Rage, burst with doubled damage,
then Rewind back to full. So build to tank with health, armor and speed rather than to
conserve, and commit to one of her two decks: Recklessness for melee or Prowess for
guns.

-= Pick weapons that feed your build =-
Look for guns that match how you fight: a large magazine, high damage and a fast fire
rate, ideally a powerful weapon with thirsty ammo that an ability or upgrade can
offset (the Retcon's Rewind is perfect for exactly this). SMG-style guns like the
Bolt-Tec "Decker" and the Drak-25 Plasma Rifle are dependable picks. Take the Heavy
Weapons crate offered at the end of a round when you can, because a heavy like the
Deepcore 40mm PGL grenade launcher or the Breach Cutter clears a whole swarm on its
own. Be careful with charge-up weapons such as the MM-4 Charger Pistol, which reward
holding the trigger but waste their potential if you release a half-charged shot or
let a reload interrupt them.

-= Deposit Expenite, do not hoard it =-
Expenite is your run currency. Deposit it into the R.E.P.D. processor as soon as you
clear a wave instead of holding it, and if you find an Expenite Gem, bank it
immediately: it guarantees an Epic-tier upgrade for both you and Cooper, the power
spike you need to clear the Core boss. Do not meticulously full-clear a stage once you
already have enough Expenite to hit the next Epic threshold.

-= Watch the Threat and the Greyout =-
The longer you linger behind the Greyout Barrier, the faster reinforcements like
Clamourheads spawn, so keep moving toward your goal. Keep an eye on the Aggression
Meter: if it reaches Critical Threat in co-op the enemies will swarm only you, not the
robots, which is even more dangerous solo.

-= Progress between runs =-
Back at Operations Command you can review mission stats and run histories, and the
important tab is Directives, a broad long-term progression track: come back after a
run and claim any you completed to earn Reclaimer currency. Deployments are class-
specific tasks you can roll once per day for more currency. Spend that currency in
Enhancements, the four-tier skill tree, and remember to manually claim points between
runs or you fall behind your clearance levels.

Secrets:
--------
-= Expenite Gems are a guaranteed power spike =-
An Expenite Gem is not just more currency. Depositing one locks in an Epic-tier
upgrade for you and for Cooper at once, the single biggest mid-run jump in strength,
so a gem is worth going slightly out of your way for before a boss.

-= Cooper is more than a gun =-
Your solo bot Cooper replaces Bosco from the base game, but his upgrades are tied to
the roguelite loop rather than a pre-mission terminal. Interacting with the Processor
Drone (R.E.P.D.) or a Bio Booster will sometimes offer upgrades specifically for
Cooper, so those choices quietly shape how strong your partner becomes.

Solutions:
----------
-= Solo mode survival checklist =-
1. Mark unreachable minerals: use your Laser Pointer to direct Cooper to harvest
Expenite or Red Sugar you cannot easily reach.
2. Mark priority enemies: point the Laser Pointer at powerful targets to send Cooper
to attack them while you handle the rest.
3. Remain cautious: Cooper revives you up to three times per mission as a safety net,
so do not be reckless, unless you are on Retcon with Rewind Time ready.
4. Watch the Aggression Meter: this matters in co-op too, but solo a Critical Threat
means the whole swarm comes for you, so ease off before it peaks.

-= Build your first solid run =-
1. Start on the Guardian for a forgiving solo run while you learn the maps and the
   threat pacing.
2. Use Cooper constantly: mine out-of-reach Expenite and focus-fire dangerous enemies
   with the Laser Pointer.
3. Deposit Expenite into the R.E.P.D. after every wave and grab any Expenite Gem for
   the guaranteed Epic upgrade.
4. Retreat from stand-in-area events when overwhelmed, thin the horde, then return and
   finish.
5. After the run, return to Operations Command and claim your Directives and
Deployments to bank Reclaimer currency for Enhancements.

-= Run the Retcon Rewind-Rage loop =-
1. Pick the deck that fits your weapon: Recklessness for melee or Prowess for guns,
and build into it instead of splitting.
2. Stack survivability (health, armor, speed) because Time Rewind will refund what you
   spend.
3. Activate Time Rewind to mark your state at full.
4. Take hits on purpose to build Rage, then unload while all your damage is doubled.
5. Reactivate Rewind before you die to snap back to full health, ammo and armor, then
   repeat.
