Cleaning Up!
Hints and Tips:
---------------
Submitted by: David K.
Side-on diorama levels via the Clyner gig app; Spongy walks you through each new
tool. Twenty main jobs in sequence - replay unlocked stages anytime.
-= Cleaning loop =-
* Each level lists tasks you can do with owned tools; progress bars show what is
left.
* Typical order: vacuum loose trash, broom coal-like grime, mop stains/toxic
spills, power-wash gunky furniture, then air-freshener spray for a finishing
pass.
* Hold the use button by default; toggle "use" in pause accessibility if you
prefer.
* Vacuum big trash piles before sweeping - reduces frame hitches on weaker PCs.
* Adjust move/look sensitivity in the pause menu if the camera feels awkward.
-= Tool unlocks (campaign) =-
* Level 1 - Vacuum + broom.
* After level 5 - Third tool (mop).
* After level 10 - Fourth tool (power-washer / sprayer).
* After level 15 - Fifth tool (air freshener spray).
* After level 19 - Campaign finale; revisit earlier jobs for stars.
* Spend cash on tool power and range upgrades before cosmetics if you plan 5-star
replays - fully upgraded gear makes old levels much faster.
-= Five-star ratings =-
* On revisit, each tool task bar at 100% adds one star (five bars = five stars
max).
* You cannot max stars on first visit; later tools clean extra grime added on
revisit.
* Finish the campaign with all five tools, then replay earlier levels from the
map.
* New Game+ is not required - reload your save and pick any unlocked stage.
* Disable optional penalties in settings for stress-free perfect runs.
* Timer and penalty toggles do not change star ratings - only missed tasks
matter.
-= General play =-
* Progress auto-saves when you complete a job.
* Gamepad is comfortable for cleaning; mouse is handy in shop/avatar menus on PC.
* If a mouse move steals focus from a gamepad, hover the cursor over a menu
button.
* Optional challenge goals exist on about half the levels - penalties can be
turned off.
How to make money (cash):
-------------------------
* Base payout after each completed cleaning job.
* Hidden interactables and bonus tasks per level (water plants everywhere after
the tutorial asks once - small coin bonus on every stage).
* Avoid penalty triggers (broken vases, soaked cats, ghost bumps) so you keep
full pay.
* Reinvest early in tool upgrades; faster clears mean quicker replay farming for
hats.
Secrets:
--------
-= Campaign level order (sequential map - replay any unlocked job later) =-
* 1 - Apartment; Tutorial; vacuum first, broom by level 2.
* 2 - Castle; Client ghost; spot fires to clear.
* 3 - Museum; Do not bump vases (5-star); break-all = bonus.
* 4 - Streets; Standard trash/grime loop.
* 5 - Bathroom; Mop unlocks after you finish this job.
* 6 - Spooky Mansion; Three clock puzzles before full clean (below).
* 7 - Diner; Hidden pizza slice on the rooftop.
* 8 - Research Facility; Smash every crate with broom/mop (bonus task).
* 9 - Library; Patrolling ghost - stay out of its path.
* 10 - Office; Water eight plants (unlocks plant bonus globally).
* 11 - Classroom; Sprayer unlocks after you finish level 10.
* 12 - Cafe; Pop-culture diorama; standard clean.
* 13 - Camping; Campsite scene; vacuum piles before sweeping.
* 14 - Cemetery; Power-wash zombies back into graves.
* 15 - Airport; Wide floor mopping; duty-free clutter.
* 16 - Mansion; Large estate; full five-tool workload on revisit.
* 17 - Dungeon; Burning-coal vacuum relay + spike timing (below).
* 18 - Moon; Low-gravity sludge; spray moon surface patches.
* 19 - Finale; Hidden pizza slices; watch moving cars.
* Nineteen story gigs on the Clyner map; Spongy onboarding is separate from
Apartment.
-= Level pitfalls (optional challenges) =-
* Art museum: bumping vases breaks them and triggers penalties - vacuum
carefully.
* Library: patrolling ghost - stay clear or you lose cash.
* Haunted mansion: three small puzzles before the room is fully cleanable.
* Graveyard: push wandering zombies back instead of ignoring them.
* Some TVs explode if mishandled; do not soak cats with mop/water tools.
* Dungeon: burning coal stays lit inside the vacuum - suck one piece up and spit
it past the obstacle instead of hauling it through the hose.
-= Optional bonus objectives (not required for story) =-
* Museum - break every vase (chaos run; opposite of penalty-free 5-star route).
* Office - eight plants total; after this job you can water plants on any level
for coins.
* Research Facility - destroy all crates (broom/mop whack, not vacuum).
* Diner + Finale - collect every hidden pizza slice.
* Spray the Cat - deliberate air-freshener hit on a cat (achievement; avoid on
5-star).
-= Five-star route =-
* Blitz the story once (~2-3 hours) to unlock every tool and shop upgrade tier.
* Replay roughly two-thirds of the map with maxed gear for remaining stars and
outfits.
* Turn penalties off, watch each task bar, and mop/vacuum corners the first pass
missed.
Solutions:
----------
Tutorial: follow Spongy, finish the first apartment gig, then pick jobs in map
order.
-= Spooky Mansion (three puzzles) =-
* Clear grime covering interactables first; look for wall "12" hints.
* Use the vacuum on each clock hand and rotate them to noon (close counts).
* Three separate clocks across rooms - solve all before the extra grime unlocks.
* Finish normal vacuum/broom/mop/spray/freshen pass afterward.
-= Dungeon =-
* Vacuum a burning coal chunk and spit it onto unlit torches or pedestals to open
paths.
* Time jumps past floor spikes; relay coal across gaps before looting side rooms.
* Air-freshen the treasure chest zone last once the route is open.
Cemetery (PC): when zombies climb out, switch to the power-washer and spray them
back into the plots before finishing trash and mop stains.
Replay path: after the finale, open the job map, select an early level, and clear
every extra grime type now listed at the top bar (five task bars = five stars).
