-= Requirements and setup =-
* Scavengers is a paid DLC for the base game Blood West (Steam App 1587130, GOG). It
  does not run standalone.
* PC release: June 3, 2026 (Steam DLC App 4051310). Own Blood West first, then enable
  the DLC.
* New to the series? Play the main campaign briefly first. Scavengers reuses the
  Canyons, Swamps, and Mountains regions but with randomized layouts and new rules.

-= Wild Ram Saloon loop =-
* Hub is the Wild Ram Saloon. Joy posts contracts, sells starter gear, and unlocks
  more traders as you survive.
* Pick a scavenger (eight playable characters), read contract locale, main objective,
  side goals, and modifiers before buying supplies.
* Modifiers can add enemy swarms, poison smoke traps, or extreme rules such as
  everyone dying in one hit, including you.
* After a run, sell loot, buy upgrades, place collectible figurines in your room, and
  take the next contract. Death swaps you to a new scavenger, but meta unlocks
  persist.

-= Demonic Sun and pacing =-
* Finish jobs and return before the sun rises. Lingering after dawn ends the run.
* Prolonged exposure to the Demonic Sun summons a deadly Spirit hunter. Keep moving
  toward objectives instead of camping.
* Plan on the map first, then detour for treasure or optional fights only if time
  allows.

-= Progression and loot =-
* Collect 31 figurines for permanent stat bonuses and saloon display.
* DLC adds 10 weapons, six craftable artifacts, 32 challenges, and new human and
  monster enemy variants.
* Stronger enemy types appear as you complete more contracts; early maps avoid the
  worst threats (for example, no Hellbear in the starting town).
* A 31-day calendar frames the roguelite progression; expect roughly 10-20 hours to
  clear a full cycle depending on skill.

-= Combat (base game skills) =-
* Scavengers inherits Blood West's stealth FPS DNA. Crouch, use corners, and strike
  from surprise before opening fire.
* Stealth awareness is forgiving if you stay in cover; sprinting or stomping near
  enemies draws fast aggro.
* Carry gold coins or perks that negate Soul Flaws if you die often in the base game;
  death is part of the loop but costly without mitigation.
