Arkaia: The Enigmatic Isle Cheats

Arkaia: The Enigmatic Isle

Hints and Tips:
---------------
Submitted by: David K.

-= Quick Start =-
Arkaia is a short first-person point-and-click puzzle adventure. A first run usually
takes one to two hours, depending on how quickly you find and solve its mechanisms.

* Sweep each scene slowly and inspect it from more than one viewing angle. A visible
path may not activate until your view is centered on the intended transition.
* Hold the right mouse button while searching for interactable objects. Treat the
highlight as an aid, not a guarantee: the four triangle pieces in the beach cave
are easy to miss and may not highlight.
* The chapter revolves around four main puzzle milestones: Water Bucket, Twisty Palm,
Triangle Box, and the final Gate.
* Save before major puzzle changes. Reloading can restore the tree lever, keystone,
or triangle pieces that should already be gone.

-= Progress Without Wasting Time =-
* Search the beach cave thoroughly. Four loose triangle pieces and a keystone can be
collected there; the triangles are especially easy to overlook.
* Do not assume a visible control is ready just because you can click it. The tree
mechanism needs its loose lever first, and the final gate can rotate before every
  required puzzle branch is finished.
* If placing an object or turning a control seems unresponsive, recenter the view and
try again before assuming the item or mechanism is wrong.
* If the route back down toward the beach will not activate after leaving the cave,
move farther outward first, then turn back and line up with the path down.

Puzzle Progression:
-------------------
-= Water Bucket =-
The Water Bucket puzzle uses two hanging bucket platforms beneath three large
wheels. Both buckets are part of the same rope-and-wheel mechanism, so inspect the
wheel faces and trace the full rope path before changing anything.

-= Twisty Palm =-
The Twisty Palm puzzle is a wooden case controlled by several turning knobs. The
case opens only when the knobs are set correctly; there is no separate key.

-= Beach Cave =-
* Collect all four loose triangle pieces before leaving. They blend into the cave and
may not appear under the normal right-click highlight.
* Take the keystone too. A reload can wrongly make it collectible after you have
already placed it in the gate. Do not use a duplicate keystone.
* If the tree lever is missing, return to the cave for the loose lever. Bring it back
to the tree and operate the gearbox again.

-= Tree Gearbox and Hanging Box =-
If the tree mechanism does nothing, you are missing the loose lever. Fit it into the
gearbox and turn it. The hanging box should lower into reach.

* If you reload after the hanging box is down, do not fetch and reinsert the lever.
Turning the mechanism again can lower the already-moved box through the ground.
* If the box drops below ground, restore a save made before operating the lever.

-= Triangle Box =-
* Bring all four triangle pieces from the beach cave before using the box. If one is
missing, recheck the cave; all four pieces are found there.
* If a reload creates duplicate triangle pieces or another keystone, load an earlier
save before continuing. The duplicate keystone can overlap a triangle in the
inventory and can even be inserted into the triangle mechanism.

-= Final Gate =-
* The gate rings can rotate before the rest of the island is complete. Spinning them
is not enough to open the gate.
* If three keystones are already fitted but the Triangle Box is unfinished, leave the
gate and finish that puzzle branch first.
* Opening the final gate completes Chapter 1.

Technical Issues:
-----------------
-= Save and Reload Problems =-
Reloading can restore some puzzle objects incorrectly. The tree lever may reappear,
the beach-cave keystone may become collectible again, and triangle pieces may
return after they were already used.

* Save before operating the tree gearbox and before placing gate puzzle pieces.
* After loading, check that the hanging box position, lever ownership, keystone
placement, and triangle inventory still match your actual progress.
* If duplicate puzzle items appear, load an earlier save before using them again.

-= Fullscreen or Missing Cursor Workaround =-
If the game reaches the menu without a usable cursor, add this Steam launch option to
start the Unity player in windowed mode:
  -screen-fullscreen 0
Once the menu works, set a usable resolution in-game before trying fullscreen again.

-= Windows Launch Files =-
Steam installs the game in a folder named "Arkaia The Enigmatic Isle" and provides
separate 64-bit and 32-bit Windows executables.

* Launch the normal 64-bit Windows build:
  Arkaia_1.0_Win64.exe
* Use the 32-bit Windows build only when you specifically need it:
  Arkaia_1.0_Win32.exe
