Doom Eternal Cheats

Doom Eternal

Cheat Codes:
------------
Submitted by: David K.

How to Activate: To activate codes in DOOM Eternal, bring down the Command Console
by pressing [Ctrl + Alt + ~]. Input the code you want to use, and then press
Enter to activate it.

Obviously, since these codes do change the way the game is played, we suggest
completing the game all the way through without the use of any command codes, and
then experimenting with which codes work best for you on your subsequent playthroughs.

Constant Crashing Fix Guide:
----------------------------
Written by Terrabyne

The purpose of this guide is to offer one solution to the constant crashing that you may
experience when trying to start the campaign. One of these instances could be when you
try to continue your playthrough and halfway through loading the level it will automatically
crash and take you back to your desktop. Keep in mind that this is only one solution. Also,
the game has only been out for a week and the devs are pushing out patches to fix any bugs
overtime.

Verifying Integrity of Game Files

* Go to Library.
* Right-click on Doom Eternal.
* Go to Properties.
* Go to the Local Files tab.
* Click on the "Verify Integrity of Game Files" tab.
* Click accept if any notification pops up.
* Now wait, this process will take a few minutes.
* Any files missing will be recovered and downloaded.
* Startup Doom Eternal and check to see if crashes are fixed.

Note: You may or may not get a notification saying that one file was missing and it will
recover a 2.7GB file (at least it did in my case)

How to Defeat Marauders (Useful Tips):
--------------------------------------
Written by MrXBX

This guide explains how to quickly and efficiently deal with Marauders.

Guide to Deal with Marauders

-=Introduction=-
The Marauder is one of DOOM Eternal's most difficult enemies to fight against. His combat
style is completely different to any other demon in the game and has been the cause of
many players' frustration. Here's how to make him trivial.

* Kill any demons with the exception of Fodder demons. This will make your job much easier.
* Make sure you have either the SSG or Ballista out at all times (The Rocket Launcher can
be used too, but splash damage can hurt you so be careful).
* Keep to about mid-range from the Marauder, if he gets within shotgunning range, dash away;
if he's too far, let him come to you.
* Use Frag Grenades or your gun to kill his dog if he spawns it.
* At mid-range the Marauder's eyes will flash green and make a loud audio cue to do his
  melee attack.
* Once he does this use your SSG or Ballista to stagger him and quick switch between them
using Z and X to get addition shots in; if you're fast enough, you can score about 3 hits
  on him.
* When the Marauder's stagger ends, return to mid-range and rinse and repeat until he dies.
* If during this process you run low on shells or energy cells, Chainsaw a Fodder demon to
  replenish them.
* You can use the Remote Detonation mod for the Rocket Launcher and Frag Grenades to stagger
the Marauder at any time if they explode behind him, but I've found that this method is
  somewhat inconsistent.
* BFG tendrils can damage him, but this method happens so rarely its not worth wasting
  precious Argent Energy.

How to Skip the Intro Video:
----------------------------
Written by djcj

This guide given short and quick answer on how to skip the intro on game start.

The Answer Is (How to Skip Boot Sequence Videos?)

Add the following command to your game's startup options:

+com_skipIntroVideo 1

It's the same as in DOOM 2016. An alternative would be to delete or rename the video file:

DOOMEternal\base\video\boot_sequence\Boot_Sequence.bk2

Combat Tips and Tricks:
-----------------------
Written by Slade

Basic combat tips and tricks gathered over the course of several campaigns with
added info from other users.

-=Tips and Tricks for Combat=-
* If there is one thing you should do at all times, you should keep moving. Even if
you’re just shooting at an enemy from afar, you should at the very least be strafing
from side to side so that the demons can’t get a good lock onto you.

* Focus on larger enemies when you have full ammunition and reserve humanoid enemies
(i.e., zombies) for recovering health, ammunition, and armour. If you get rid of the
smaller foes too early, you may find there’s no way to recover health when you’re at
death’s door.

* There are lots of ledges, pipes, and portals littered around most areas where
enemies appear. They’re not just for show. Use them as often as you can to dart
around the area, getting the jump on demons where you can.

* If you need to recover armour safely, use the flame thrower to roast a staggered
foe. Do this before either performing a glory kill to get both health and armour, or
mincing them up with a slash of the chainsaw for ammo and armour.

* Know which alternative fire modes are best for dealing with certain enemies. For
example, Cacodemons (the big eyeball things that float around) really hate swallowing
grenades from Sticky Bombs. Getting rid of them first gives you some much needed
breathing room to deal with the other big threats. (Open your Codex and read the
entries on Demons: each has weaknesses, get to know them!)

* Some enemies have weaknesses that can be exploited to reduce their firepower.
Arachnotrons (the big brains with spider legs) can have their turret blown off with
a sticky grenade or a well-placed bolt from the heavy cannon, while Revenants rocket
launchers can be destroyed.

* Use secondary fire often, as they’re usually much better than the primary fire
for dealing with certain enemies. Hell Knights (the hulking jumping demons) tend
to have a harder time against explosives like sticky grenades, micro missiles,
and many others.

* Shoot any mines or red barrels near enemies. Their explosions will nearly always
stagger them for a short time, interrupting their attack for a short time.

* For any enemy that uses plasma shielding, concentrated fire of the plasma gun
will strip the shield. Destroying a shield with the Plasma Gun will cause it to
explode, dealing heavy damage to nearby demons.

* Are you finding levels too tough but don’t want to resort to cheats or changing
the difficulty? Use the Mission Select to complete old missions to get Extra Lives.
These carry over to your main campaign progress.

* Upgrading weapons is a needful thing and certain areas are perfect for doing
this such as the early area in Super Gore Nest Mission... but always leave a few
enemies so you can just reload the checkpoint and continue. Also the Fortress
has a practice area which is good for some mobs like soldier's).

* Often switch weapons and don't stick to one. Not only the ammo you have is
limited, some of the weapons also take a while to reload the shot. This means
that changing weapons a lot during a fight can help you deal more damage and use
up ammo more efficiently.

* To optimize your weapon-switching, try to use numbers and your scroll wheel
instead of the weapon wheel, or in case just press Q to switch to your most
recent weapon. If a number is too far from your fingers, switch to a closer
one and then use the scroll wheel!

* Move efficiently! You'll want to shoot who you can while moving (or running
away), to ensure dealing damage. In addition, the Balista's modules take quite
a bit to load, and while it's doing so your movement speed will decrease,
making you vulnerable. Try to launch yourself in the air and load the shot.
Then, shoot when convenient.

* Spam dash, it can move you away from the damage radius of something like a Hell
Knight's slam. You can dash much faster if you only tap the key once. When you
do a double dash it takes a second or two to recharge but if you tap, wait, tap,
wait, tap you can basically dash forever because it recharges one pip much faster
than two.

How to Reach Level 250:
-----------------------
Written by Kayako

Since a lot of people have asked me how I got to 250 so fast I decided to
make a little guide for players.

-=How to Get Started=-
* Have a save game with 100% completion with the following cheats
Infinite Ammo / Onslaught / Overdrive.
* Go to the level “Sentinel Prime” and farm it with those cheats on.
* Sentinel prime is by far the fastest level to farm without abusing
  glitches.

Difficulty does not matter as each time you end the level you level up. I’ve
one that level personally over 50 times, and I’ve always gotten a level at
the end. (This does not give event EXP for your boosters).

-=Settings=-
For the most optimal way of playing, I’ve been running the game on lowest
settings and a lower resolution, the more FPS the more broken this game gets,
which means the faster you can reach the end of a level.

Here are some tweaks I’ve used.

-=Open console with ` and input these=-
* r_decalLifetimeMultiplier 0
* r_antialiasing 0
* r_lightDistanceFadeMultiplier 0
* r_shadowAtlasWidth 8

Also to make jumps easier you can also bind this: "bind mwheeldown jump".

Keep in mind the settings for the 1st 4 inputs will need to be copy and pasted
every time you restart the game.

-=Others: Speedrunning=-
If you’d rather play the game instead of farming the same level over and over,
well I can also help with that, as speedrunning nightmare or any other difficulty
to get the even exp at the end can be quite easy.
This requires the "bind mwheeldown jump" for the tricks to work.
how to jump over the map, and do other cool stuff:

-=Others: Battlemode=-
Battlemode is a good source of EXP and Event EXP, it is indeed slower than
farming sentinel or doing speedruns, but it gives a good mix of both EXPs,
play this if you really want both EXP.
